Ok, enough Batman.....

Remember what HT said about characters like that: "Figure of guy in just suit is boring stupid head". Or something like that. But you get the gist.

This thread has made me laugh multiple times. I love you guys!

I'd apologize to Iron Man publicly for ruining his Christmas, but we E-mail and I already did that. I would like to sneak over to his house and build a Batman snowman in his front yard for him to wake up to, though. :)
Galactica is still coming, Bro!

I have to admit I am kind of befuddled by the 37 Heath Ledger Joker heads out there as well, but I don't really follow those threads to have seen how the heads look.

I find it equally as strange all of the House and Dexter heads that are getting made too, but I do follow those, and most are usually a little off in my opinion so I get why someone else would try making them again later on. Though I find House an odd choice for people to want (and I like the show!) I've quit looking at all of their threads now so maybe someone finally nailed their likenesses 100%?

Adam has captured several different face expressions, Bobby has captured an expression similar to HT, but with a much better likeness and of course realism (and his new 1/3 will have a more sinister look to it), Monkey has made one similar to HT too, but with a much better likeness than the BR Joker (he has made a laughing sculpt as well) so I don't know why Ray moans about it and says they all look the same when the customs actually have a stronger resemblance to the late actor and some of the heads have had different expressions. I know I would much rather have a head sculpt that actually looks like Heath, but I guess some people don't really care as much about likenesses as others. :dunno

Ah, okay. Different expressions are great!

I don't think ironman was suggesting that Hot Toys make these figures. He was talking about custom heads. As long as the slap happy Batman fans keep buying every custom head that comes out you will keep seeing more of the same. The people who sculpt/sell custom heads are going to go where the money is at. I think a lot of the multiple sculpts of the same character have to do with sculptor's egos. They each think they can do it better so they try and one up the last people who sculpted House, Dexter, Joker ... On one level it works because the collector is able to chose from multiple sculpts of the same actor. On another level those who want the more obscure characters either have to wait patiently or commission a sculptor to do the obscure character they want. For those Batfans bashing ironman get a clue. His obsession for obscure characters is no more unreasonable then yours for Batman.

I have literally never heard of a single character you mentioned.

Me either...:dunno:dunno

:dunno

Me either...

K...back to Batman:rotfl

Nor I... haha... I could live on Batman for the rest of my life

AND.. that's why there's no custom/main stream figures of them. :lol:lol:lol

:nono Shame on you Ironman...Shame. On. You.

wait.. what... who??
You guys really need to put the comics down and get out more.
The B-List Collection.

Awesome.
B-list? I think not, no more so than Keaton as Batman.
I'm all for obscure customs and bashing your favorites, its part of what this hobby is all about.

But as part of the group who knows not one of those characters I find it funny you wish to see Hot Toys drop their number one money generating license (or at least one of the tops) in favor of a bunch of regular looking guys from barely known basic cable television series!

The bigger names like Dexter and House... i can see that maaaaaybe happening. That Carl Winslow looking guy from "Human Target"... not so much.

Buy hey don't let that stop you if you want it bad enough there might be 10-15 others that do too and you can perhaps get somone on board to sculpt it for you

Exactly right yruh8n, I never said Hot Toys or any other major manufacturer. While I won't deny I'd love to see it happen, reality says no. However, constant batman customs, all looking silmilar, revolving around a comedian in a rubber suit that can't turn his head? YAWN. I love Batman. Nolan's films have done well bringing him into "reality" but there has not been a true "Batman" on film in the last 30 years except for Sandy Collora's version in Dead End.
And this thread wasn't about the "I only love batman boys" It was meant to gauge interest in other, seperate sculpts. No offense, but any of the sculpts I have, or will ever mention will always have cross genre appeal. that is, they could be used for sci-fi fans, military, fantasy, modern day, WWII, etc...
Batman....well..... Once you have Batman, you have Batman.
WSP, I know why it went as it did. There was never a reason to apologize and the fact that you felt there was just shows the stand up guy you are. I guess this year being less than stellar and my Christmas even more so I just felt somewhat depressed and needed to vent/rant.

Sorry to hear your year and holiday sucked, man. May your 2011 rule and kick your 2010's ass like a red-headed step child! (laugh).

You want a rant? Here's my rant. It freaking kills me to see Dirk Benedict and Richard hatch in their what-- (late 50's, early 60's?), and have had all of that time pissed away that they could have been brought back to reprise their roles again like most sci-fi vets get to do at some point in tv movies or something, but now they are to old to be cool even if it were to happen now, and that pisses me off royally.

At the same time, for all my dreaming of how a season 2 of Galactica might of happened for all those years were dashed when they eventually revealed the proposal Larson had for the networks: Killing Sheba off, having Apollo and Starbuck switching personalities and having Apollo become the party guy and Starbuck the serious one, :horror having Athena (Maren Jensen) crash and get plastic surgery so she could be replaced by another actress, then a bunch of ideas they ended up using for Galactica 1980.

Crazy talk, man! Crazy talk!

there has not been a true "Batman" on film in the last 30 years except for Sandy Collora's version in Dead End.

Batman and Robin was more of a ____ing Batman film than that piece of ____.

Don't see why so many fanboys have a hard on for a FAN film of Batman about to get gangbanged by a bunch of Predators and Aliens.

For this market Keaton Batman is about as A list as it gets. Indy, Star Wars, Reeves Superman... That's about as close to the top of the heap as Hot Toys can get.

They are not going to concern themselves with the half dozen or so people that want Burn Notice.

Reminds me of that SNL skit... What is Burn notice? It's a very popular show... What is it? All you have to do is answer the question and you win... No one? It's a popular show honestly!

What hot toys should concern themselves with is other iconic and probably attainable licenses like Pulp Fiction, Apocalypse Now etc.

You sure this thread shouldn't have been called "I'm Sick of the Ledger Dorks, And I Really Want a Burn Notice Figure"? Because I see way more non-Batman, and even non-comic related customs/figures on here than anything else.

Dang man. I know you're frustrated, but that kind of makes you sound retarded.

And I'm really not trying to be funny or rude. That's just really dumb as hell.

For all of the confused.

youve got to be kidding me......:thud:

I haven't read a comic in close to 17 years and still don’t know any of the suggestions.
My apologies, I suppose that means you don't have a TV or newspaper.

Fanboy? Hardly. A fanboy would be someone who sees nothing but the one object/character and dismisses everything else. HEY!! That fits YOU!! :rotfl
I'm simply pointing out that the most accurately portrayed version [LOOK AT THE COSTUME, ITS WHAT"S IN THE COMICS] was Collora's film. When I was growing up Batman never wore a black, rubber suit that actualy restricted his movement.
Yeah, probably so...Going out to the comic store right now! :yess:

And if Michael Keaton isn't A list I don't know who is. :lecture
A list? Please. Oh, wait, he did turn up in lindsay Lohan's Herbie the Love Bug movie.

Again, for those in the cheap seats, arriving late, or taking the little yellow bus in. I was not and am not talking about Hot Toys. I am talking about custom sculpts for custom figures. If a show thats been on for several years escapes you, whether you watch/like it or not, thats really sad. And an example of pure tunnel vision.

Please show me a better Batman, on film, showing that the traditional comic outfit can be worn and portrayed effectively. Retarded? That would be thinking there is no other actor but Keaton who could play Batman. Or thinking that the Joker should not be heard from again after the powerful setup in TDK bacause Ledger killed himself.
And by the way, there have already been two successful sculpts from the show.
The Ledger figures were from a movie.

Very Good, you'll notice I never brought up Ledger. Although, if I'm not mistaken he was playing a character from the comics wasn't he?

However, this thread has not gone in the intended direction. I did not start it to assemble the world's greatest assortment of true Batman fanboys to defend Keaton. The thread was intended for those who would like some CUSTOM [notice again, I'm not talking Hot Toys] sculpts from other properties.
WST, I guess, according to these fellows, you should stop all production at WGP. Only make Keaton, nothing else will sell.
