Fanboy? Hardly. A fanboy would be someone who sees nothing but the one object/character and dismisses everything else. HEY!! That fits YOU!! :rotfl
I'm simply pointing out that the most accurately portrayed version [LOOK AT THE COSTUME, ITS WHAT"S IN THE COMICS] was Collora's film. When I was growing up Batman never wore a black, rubber suit that actualy restricted his movement.

Now, if you're going on about the aesthetics of the suit being more "Batman" then I agree with you. The costume is closer and more faithful to the comic counterpart. However, I dig the "rubber suits" in the Batman films. Unless they have nips or gaudy silver armor. :rotfl

Remember, story wise they're not "rubber" it's armor. Well, as far as Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are concerned.

However, if you meant that Dead End as a "film" was more Batman, well I have to disrespectfully disagree. Film wise, narrative and thematically, Batman: Dead End is nothing but a fan film full of glorified fanboy wetdreams. Batman vs. Joker vs. Predator vs. Aliens? Come on. That's the only reason I went on about fanboys. I just never understood what was so great about it.

I'm more sick of bloody Iron Man than anything. They'll exhaust that licence but cannot be bothered to do any more Planet of the Apes, a Shoshanna from IB or a single X-Men movie figure. FAIL.

Wolverine is pretty much the X-Men. POTA didn't sell and neither would Shoshanna. And I love IB, it just aint gonna happen. Iron Man sells. Variants of Iron Man that don't even exist sell. The suit is just that damn cool and complex and hes a rich playboy superhero that can fly. It all just translates to "Action" figures.

They are still doing cult licenses like Terminator, Predator, Indy, Platoon, so if Iron Man is a cash cow that allows them to keep getting cult licenses, let the fanboys pay for the orange and green camo exclusive osh gosh pagosh version.

Weird how people get confused about stuff that doesn't sell not getting made. No reason to hate on popular licenses that make money.

Does anybody actually read the thread before commenting?

Even though I have a planet of the apes General Ursus, I still don't think Hot Toys should ever do any more figures from that movie. Nobody was buying them.

What hot toys should concern themselves with is other iconic and probably attainable licenses like Pulp Fiction, Apocalypse Now etc.

:exactly::goodpost:

Right on Raymond, now your talking. Imagine the Hot toys treatment on Jules and Vincent alone!!

Also for what it's worth (IMO) there could never be too many comics based figures. I say keep em' coming.

I have no issues with batman related stuff whatsoever ESPECIALLY the burtan stuff as its a welcome breath of fresh air from the bale stuff. but for gods sake I worry about those obsessed with Heath Ledger Joker customs. They all look the same. That needs a rest!!

I agree! :goodpost:

And was viewed by millions of people who have never picked up a comic in their life.
but, again, Joker was NOT the topic of this thread. And I doubt that there are millions of people, who can afford the movies, who have never held a comic. And don't forget the newspaper strips.

Absolutely. I only said that the movie was the only one to show that Batman could be portrayed in his classic outfit on film.

IronMan is a wallet breaking license for sure. But, at least, each set of armor differs.

Planet of the Apes actually sold pretty well.

Just by most of their comments I would have to say NO. They still aren't getting that I'm not talking about Hot Toys or any other company to produce these sculpts. I am talking about CUSTOM SCULPTS for we 1:6 enthusists that like to customize our own figures.
Even though I have a planet of the apes General Ursus, I still don't think Hot Toys should ever do any more figures from that movie. Nobody was buying them.
Again, they actually sold pretty well. It also has to be understood that POTA is hugely popular in other countries so there is more than just the USA to consider in sales.

NOW, if the "Batman is all we need" guys will take a break and hijack another thread, let's see if this one can't get back on track and see if interest can be generated for other characters for customizers.

I think the thread was derailed from the topic of customs to batman discussion is because of the title obviously... It was just begging to provoke this discussion.

If it was named "TV characters I'd like to customize" Burn Notice and Hot Target or whatever I'm sure it would be a different story...

Perhaps you're right. I may have let my "Batman" frustration get the better of me when titling the thread.
MODS?
Can we change the title to TV CHARACTERS YOU'D LIKE CUSTOMS OF?

and delete all the batman/keaton hoopla posts?

No worries man like I said I'm all for obscure character bashes and customs of unlikely characters. It's so great that with the one sixth scale stuff and the amazing talent on this board pretty much anything can be made!
