Hope if anyone in the area got hit by this you are alright..Looks like a school got a direct impact. 51 reported killed so far.

I live a couple hours NE of where that happened. Luckily, all we had was heavy rain. Moore has been hit by major storms in 1999 and 2003. Such a tragedy to be hit like this three times in 14 years. :(

I have relatives in Coweta, OK, and luckily they are safe. My thoughts go out to the poor victims of this terrible atrocity :monkey2

Gald your safe DW.

What about Galactiboy and EvilFace? Hope they are safe!

im here...it missed us by a few miles..hit the major highway about 5 miles away..we live east of the really bad stuff....so by the time it got to us, it passed us and hit the highway..luckily....

Chakaman lives in KS and they were getting hit again as well...hope he is ok as well...

This is all so devastating and heartbreaking. My prayers go out to all affected by the tornado and the future storms as well as everyone with friends and family in these areas.

You were close. That's good your ok. KS didn't get any major tornados did they?

According to the National Weather Service, the estimated peak wind ranged from 200 to 210 mph. At one point it was about two miles wide.

And it's been rated an EF5.

I just bought a house here in chicago, well the burbs..It has a crawl space and the entrance to that is outside. We do not get tornados like you guys do, but its always on my mind on what I would do if one were to occur. The bathroom is the only place to go in our house, then it go me thinking how they said you had to be underground for this one that hit Moore. So if they told me this and I couldnt get to my neighbors house I would get my kids into the crawl space which is actually pretty nice and open.

Then I think about possibly being trapped down there and flooding as with the kids in the school and the basement.

My heart goes out to everyone. Great job by the first responders who are trained to do this, even when you are trained its hard. But a great job to those who are just helping and are not trained. Takes a lot of courage.

I want to take this opportunity to thank the Freaks who texted, Tweeted and Facebook messaged me to see if my family and I was safe. I love the Freak community. It feels like family. :duff
