And while we're talking about 8-bit Nintendo, does anyone else remember that brief young adult book series "Worlds of Power"? I remember reading and enjoying Metal Gear and Castlevania II (the one where a kid was pulled into the Castlevania world and helped Simon in his quest).

I don't remember those particular ones, but I do remember checking out some Mario and Zelda "choose your own adventure" type books from the library. I liked the nintendo books better than traditional CYOA books because you would have to solve a puzzle of some sort for the right answer instead of just a random choice like in CYOA.
