Re: Olivetti Hulk Comiquette Up for Pre-Order

i love it and i'm buying it....HULK is bada$$...i know its not perfect but this will do...i never liked the hulk PF(monkey)...ORDERED:yess::yess::yess:

Finally someone that knows what they are looking at, so much negative talk about this piece when the PF one looks like a drugged up MONKEY ??????????????????????

Re: Olivetti Hulk Comiquette Up for Pre-Order

Agreed. That kinda comment should not be made, especially knowing that the sculptor is a member of that forum as well.

So they shouldn't express their opinion because the creator might read about it and get their feelers hurt? That's pretty lame.

To me that's all the more reason to say something. How can any artist grow without feedback, good and bad. If X amount of people agree the haircut sucks, maybe it sends a message to the creative team as something to think about down the road.

To be honest, I really enjoy surprise as much as the next guy, but I think it would benefit Sideshow on some of these pieces to maybe let the fans vote on conceptual artwork before any clay is sculpted. Not saying do this for every piece, but once in awhile it would be good to hear what the people buying it think.

My 2 cents.

Re: Olivetti Hulk Comiquette Up for Pre-Order

Yep, the hair is a pretty boy haircut when he's obviously in a total action pose. It just doesn't add up.

Love everything else. Looks like the sculpt is pretty sick.

Oh, they should. Just not disrespectful, IMO.

Re: Olivetti Hulk Comiquette Up for Pre-Order

The way it leans, there's no way in hell this thing is made of solid polystone. Be afraid, people. I love the EX print but that's about it...:lol

I agree, input from fans is always good. Popculture Shock has thrived on that and Jerry has become very well respected among the SF community.

Voicing one's opinion is never bad as long as it's in a respectful polite manner. A company creates for it's fans after all and listening to their input is a key to becoming great. Once you shy away from that, then you just become another profiteering souless company.

I'm sure not everyone wants to be rude or disrespectful but I guess for a piece like the Hulk, an avid fan being quick to anger may just be appropriate. It is the Hulk after all. :wink1:

It just shows how many fans care about deeply the piece and the subject matter, and we're all here cos we love SSC.

If the majority don't like something and SSC still moves ahead with it then something is definitely amiss.

Re: Olivetti Hulk Comiquette Up for Pre-Order

I wonder if this is going to be as big as the PF Hulk. I know it says its 24 inches but keep in mind that its arms are way above its head and its standing on its heal. The PF Hulk is about 21-22 inches tall but he is hunched over and not standing straight up.

The pose is going to make the comiquette a very awesome and dynamic display.(and this is coming from a guy who ususally likes the more museum stance looking statues like Captain America)

Re: Olivetti Hulk Comiquette Up for Pre-Order

You guys/gals can nitpick all you want, and I am OK with it. As far as I am concern, it's perfect. This print from Olivetti is one of the best Hulk print and this statue is just as good. I prefer this over any retro Hulk.

Hulk PF is nice enough but too pricey for me atm. But heck, if the new Kirby Hulk 1:1 bust goes on sale, like the Planet Hulk vs Silver Surfer Dio did, I might just buy it in the future.

I am still not sure why so many complain/comment about the head/hair. There's many version of Hulks. Its not like Hulk keep Banner's intelligence; most of the time Hulk doesn't. I am thinking the way the arm is positioned, it makes the torso looks wider and thus making the head looks smaller than it is?

Whatever the comment is, I ordered the Ex and keeping it; since now that I have the resources. Kudoes to Sideshow for taking a different pose. :yess:

Re: Olivetti Hulk Comiquette Up for Pre-Order

This is not what I expected! I did order the EX but the head is too small and I'm not feeling the buzz cut. I am happy that he's pissed off. I did not want another docile ape looking Hulk. I can't stand the PF but I also can't say this comiquette looks better. They are very different. I think SS wants it that way.

Well, the angry face and the unique pose were enough to get me to order. I do like the piece but with a few tweaks to the head and hair, this could have looked even better.

Edit: Damn, after seeing more pics and the videos from SDCC, I LOVE THIS PIECE. This is THE HULK statue for me.

The statue is perfect! But the drawing it is based on - for me - is not the best pose the Hulk could have been in.
Without having this in hand I think the PF still is number one but I still really like this statue it is damn awesome.

Love it...I cant wait to see this bad boy at SDCC...

Re: Olivetti Hulk Comiquette Up for Pre-Order

A change of head would have been the perfect EX for this piece IMHO. I would have taken that over the print.

Re: Olivetti Hulk Comiquette Up for Pre-Order

Looks good not great.

Really like the pose, very dynamic. Not thrilled with the hair, but the face sculpt works well I think. For now its ordered but not likely to get kept. Just not feeling enough to drop that much coin on it.

I give it a 7/10.

Premium format is still the reining champion and since I have both green and grey not sure I need this.
