Re: Sideshow/ Olivetti - Venom Comiquette

Couldn't help myself since I haven't really taken pics of this bad boy ever since I got him years ago...

Re: Sideshow/ Olivetti - Venom Comiquette

This is the only grail that I wanted that I don't have in my collection yet, and that's the Venom original life size bust. I think the two are just made to be displayed with one another. I'm going to get this bust one day no matter how long it takes.

Re: Sideshow/ Olivetti - Venom Comiquette

Picking up the Venom com was one of the best decisions I have made. Seeing this bad boy up close is the only way to admire all the details in this statue. It is magnificent!

Re: Sideshow/ Olivetti - Venom Comiquette

Rub it all in all of you who have the comiquette! Jk, wish I was looking to buying this guy a couple weeks ago I would have snagged the one Mr. Ski was selling. Oh well, my search continues.

It is definitely magnificent, brother. I remember when this went up for pre-order I grabbed it right away. There were a bunch of folks hatin' on it at the time. Now it's many folks' grail piece and for good reason.

I still have a Carnage I can sell to you. You need him, Spidey and Venom to complete the trilogy.

The hating was so thick you could cut it with a knife.

Re: Sideshow/ Olivetti - Venom Comiquette

Are you guys exaggerating?
How can anyone hate on such craftmanship? :cuckoo:

I wish we were, but sadly it's all true...:(

I remember when jBinny and I were telling the whole forum that this Venom comi was going to hit $600 by the end of last summer, and of course we were laughed out the building. Then jBinny sold his for six when other were saying $600 was asking to much for the reg., and look how things have changed.

Looks like we were right in the first place.

Good call jBinny...(RIP) you're missed my friend.

I remember when we came up with this here to slap post on folks on these forums...

He supplied the background and I drop in the photo.

Re: Sideshow/ Olivetti - Venom Comiquette

Several of us don't like this version of Venom, with the symbiote seeping and the giant tongue flailing about, we prefer the classic look. The print was ridiculed much more than the statue, but the version and pose were enough for me to cancel my order.

I agree that the print is pretty weak, but what is the classic look?

Re: Sideshow/ Olivetti - Venom Comiquette

For me it's around the Bagley era, for others it's McFarlane. His body wasn't oozing and the tongue was kept in check and no slobber everywhere. I really liked having a big distinction between Venom and Carnage with Eddie and Cletus both being reflected in their symbiotes. Where Venom was vicious, cold, calculating and powerful, Carnage was just plain crazy and unpredictable.

I have Carnage, that is why I want Venom so bad. I have the perfect artwork in mind to display behind both Venom and Carnage once I find a Venom to buy. I thought about Pre-ordering Spidey, but I am not much of a Hero fan, mostly villains/aliens/predator.

I can respect that.
But I myself favor the look with the exaggerated tongue & slobber. :wink1:

Did you know that when Marvel was in the process of creating Carnage they based his personality with the Joker. :lecture
