Re: Venom Comiquette - TO ORDER REGULAR - Link in 1st Post

The one thing that I don't like about this whole thing is this: prints are a very nice exclusives but they are also a lazy/cheap way to not do something creative with the piece itself as an exclusive. Also, how many of us have the wall space to display all these pieces properly with their respective prints? Matching stuff like Venom and Spidey may be but not all of them. I just hope prints don't become the norm for an exclusive item. I would have prefered a white vision little robot or an Eddie Brock head (like in the small diorama) for the exclusives for those 2 items.

Exclusive Eddie Brock head would've been amazing!!!

feeter, what the heck is your signature?

Re: Venom Comiquette - TO ORDER REGULAR - Link in 1st Post

myself,i'm getting tired of change-o-head statues, or change o arms ect....it takes the ''statue'' out of the statue IMO.....I dont want them to become action figures..I prefer art print like that for the ex..or another piece as the ex...like for exemple the sword in the rock that came with Conan.

Re: Venom Comiquette - TO ORDER REGULAR - Link in 1st Post

not a fan of statues that lights up too....

I really like change of heads/arms since it lets you change the statue, but I can see how some might see that as action figurish. I think exclusives like the Conan sword or the Doom cup are the best. I DON'T like prints because I already have a signed Alex Ross print, a signed Mark Brooks X-Family print from SDCC, and an X-Men poster on my walls; so EX prints for me are just a waste of $ to sit in the box.

Fair enough....

I still don't think you'll have problem. You may have to wait up until the last minute, but I do think it will convert.

I hope your right, thanks for the vote of confidence! :joy

Yup, I am with you. Take a look at the Darth Vader 1:1 Exc. Definitely has exclusive written all over it, with low ES.

Re: Venom Comiquette - TO ORDER REGULAR - Link in 1st Post

Last Friday Marvel PPO may prove to be interesting down the line. All 3 are very nice pieces with VERY low edition sizes. It's like Sideshow was trying to bring low ES back to it's business model.

If a regular Spidey outfit comiquette is released in the same Olivetti style (also with ex print) then this Venom ex will skyrocket in price. Most likely due to the Spidey being a slightly larger ES and people will want to display both with prints.

Scarlet Witch is part of the Avengers line (in scale with the PFs) as well as the "Marvel sexy line" so it has that going for her. The exclusive nature of the VERY nice print and the context of the piece with the little robot makes her even more desirable. The statue has presence with the bright red color.

Mystique is pretty much what the PF should have been from the beginning. It's classic outfit Mystique with the skulls. It being part of the AH! line doesn't hurt either. People will fall over themselves to get the AH! print with the low ES.

agreed, print for the ladies seems to be standard, but a print for venom.......i'm sorry but venom isn't print worthy subject imo.
this exclusive just doesn't work for me, i still have it on order strictly because of the lower ES though.

Re: Venom Comiquette - TO ORDER REGULAR - Link in 1st Post

I'd rather have a print of venom than the exclusive being venom holding a fire hydrant (ie abomination ex)

Re: Venom Comiquette - TO ORDER REGULAR - Link in 1st Post

I still stand by my idea of the change-o-head. It only makes sense once Spidey comes out to have these 2 characters facing each other without their masks. After all, Eddie/Venom hates "Parker" for ruining his life.

A missed opportunity choosing to go with a print.

:rotfl:rotfl good point, it is better than some of the other ex offerings.

i didn't realize that the abom hydrant isn't removable. so even if you purchase items strictly based on the lower ES, but would like to be able display it either way. the abom only give you one display option, all be it a lower ES version.:confused:

Re: Venom Comiquette - TO ORDER REGULAR - Link in 1st Post

I was hoping for either an Eddie Broke head (with the symbiote closing around it) OR an extra hand holding a Spiderman mask. I was going to get Venom either way because he is a great looking comiquette, but now I am going to keep the EX I have on order though just for the low ES.

I really hope that prints are not going to be the new norm for all statues. Prints for AH! and Mark Brooks make sense because the piece is based off that artist's art.

Re: Venom Comiquette - TO ORDER REGULAR - Link in 1st Post

The Spidey mask would be my second suggestion for a possible exclusive.

An Eddie Brock head would do more service to the context of the piece than a print. Especially if Spidey is made to compliment it. I also find it surprising how we are all of the sudden above lights on statues. Are we also over chromed pieces too? So when Thanos PF comes out nobody wants a light up infinity gauntlet? when the Surfer comiquette comes nobody wants chrome? We want prints now?

:lol:rotfl:lol

Anyways, Venom is still a GREAT looking statue.

hell no, give me lights anytime over prints. except for the ladies of course.
i just think ssc has gone away from light up features since it has been evident that they are a hassle and do have a reliability issue down the road.

Re: Venom Comiquette - TO ORDER REGULAR - Link in 1st Post

I prefer Mike Mayhew's version of Mystique and the PF is still better than the maquette. A matching Spidey to go with Venom would be fantastic.
