Re: Venom Comiquette - Link in 1st Post

I still see it as comparing apples with oranges...If you go off the original site it's secondary market.

:monkey4 Ok, so using your logic...when I buy my son, say, a GI Joe toy, I should go buy from Hasbrotoyshop.com direct, I shouldn't drive him down to Target or Toys R' Us if the price is less for the same thing. After all, Target is a secondary market and I can't compare their price to Hasbro's online price?

Seriously man, it is a silly arguement. As far as exclusive or nothing, I normally am in that crowd. Just not with Venom because the EX is so fricking crappy and Sideshow basically told us to go pound sand over it.

How is this apples and oranges :lol
No one ever talked about buying a "regular" version with Sideshow.
It was always "exclusive" from Sideshow or "regular" somewhere else.

Apples and oranges would be buying from Sideshow vs. getting it for $10 from a Chinese factory worker who smuggled one out :lol

Re: Venom Comiquette - Link in 1st Post

It's not apples & oranges, it's the exact same product! Getting the dealer discount + no shipping charges = major win.

Re: Venom Comiquette - Link in 1st Post

Is there going to be a Spiderman piece to go with this Venom?

The Back in Black Spiderman base looks like it matches up with Venom's; however, a new classic blue & red Spiderman comiquette would be perfect (and, hopefully, not just a ISM repaint).

Re: Venom Comiquette - Link in 1st Post

i think it was confirmed sometime ago that there was a new spidey comiquette in the works.

Darn it---now I need to figure out if I want Venom or Man-Thing---Wallet screams NOOOOOO to getting both :horror

K, I think about it this way, if I were to buy a BMW from the dealer the actual BMW dealer and I get their product, it's first hand at the going rate of retail value and then if I get the same BMW from a use car lot like DODGE, FORD at a lesser value then I'm not buying at retail price anymore, it's secondary market.

Anyways $60 is not much to sneeze at at the end of all this...

No what I mean jelly bean, that's what I said bunny bread.

Re: Venom Comiquette - Link in 1st Post

And I'm not saying that you don't come out ahead or Sideshow is screwing us with this Ex because they probably are, I agree the print is crap for the Ex....

but if u get that piece for less than retail value, that's not the true value.... if you were to resell it, you would gain of course or list it for whatever the value would be on the Sideshow website because that is the going rate on the piece. Therefore ur right, u are coming ahead and it's better deal to get the LCS reg version...

I hope they do not fail on that piece, although how could u go wrong with Spiderman piece, it will be a MUST for most Marvel collectors!!!!

But every BMW dealership is the original seller, even though they didn't manufacture the car, and the dealership isn't owned by BMW, and the dealers don't have to sell for MSRP. BMW sends new cars to dealers, Sideshow sends new products to dealers. The only difference is that Sideshow opened up it's own dealership.

There's what I'm getting at, so whatever SS sells it for, that's what I believe is the true retail value, not what another online dealer does....

SO.... by you getting it shipper you are getting ahead and getting it at a discount but the piece that you've recently acquired is worth more than what you paid, hence therefore YOU WIN!!!! That is what I'm trying to explain...

edit: so the compared value is not equal if you compare at a discount.

Re: Venom Comiquette - Link in 1st Post

There is a trade-off of course, I get the items later than most. And the true retail is still set, dealers are not allowed to discount more than 10%. In certain instances, dealers raise the price too!

You know what I really wish for is that dealers to get Ex :lecture I need ABOM!!!!!

Re: Venom Comiquette - Link in 1st Post

They can, but they have to pay full price. At least that's what my dealer said. Not sure if that changes after something sits too long.

Are dealers not allowed to get the EX version of SS pieces? I've always noticed that stores (even the MARVEL store at island of adventure) never carry the EX version.... :dunno
