What's this business I've heard about cracks along the beak of the eagle on the base? Anyone know? Any pics?

Mesa, your piece does have a few tiny cracks in the bird beak. It's just not nearly as bad as most I've seen so far. Mine is worse then yours, but I'm keeping it as is.

This is more of a design flaw than a QC problem. The hole for the peg on the front foot is drilled so close to the inside front face of the eagle, that apparently it's too thin and it is causing a lot of damage to the eagle's head/beak area.

It still should have been caught by QC early on when they were making the holes though. I mean, a lot of the ones I'm seeing have the pieces that are damaged just glued back into place. I don't know what to think about it. I guess it's just another example of the factory doing pretty much whatever they want, and getting away with it because no one is looking over their shoulder.

Ex. all the way man. even though the print isn't priceless it's still worth the extra $$$ imo to get a piece with an ES of only 300ish vs one of 1100.

I think it looks good with the crack

mine doesn't have the crack, but even if it did i'd been hard pressed to not think it would've been part of the sculpt. also think it looks ok imo.
