He looks very boyish..too young. The paint apps HT are using lately remind me of DNR used on movies. No texture.

I will pick a few parts from this to add to MMS

Has every DX release with PERS used the same internal part designs so far? I only have a few DX releases and have never compared the parts of one figure to another.

That could be the problem. Are they designing the head sculpt to fit around the existing PERS chassis instead of designing a specific PERS chassis to fit each unique headsculpt? It's cheaper to reuse the same PERS designs than to create new parts/molds, but doing so they are forcing the sculpt to maintain the existing dimensions of the internal parts.

Interesting but I don't think so. The problem with PERS has always been eye's being too open, eyelids being too thick (perhaps unavoidable) whites of eye being too white and cartoony looking irises (which even the best examples of PERS have IMO)

I'm not sure how the type and size of the PERS apparatus affects these things.

Not as impressive b/c we've already seen this pretty much. If this came out years ago instead of the mms folks would've been equally impressed. Or if this had bd parts folks would've been impressed. But as many have said, this is more of the same so its not that impressive. However, I think it's still better than the mms just not as impressive as the mms was for its time.

I have to admit not being blown away by this as well. Was hoping for something truly great- face just looks like a boyish version of EB's HS. The body/outfit looks spot on but the head in general not doing it for me- even the hair looks "toyish"...hmmm.
Still getting it but OMG can't make this one a winner even with his ability!

100% agree. One of the first times I wasn't impressed after seeing OMG's pics. The sculpt just looks plain weird imo, and the awful "dull" looking paint isn't helping.

Worst DX since Indy. It's like a characature of Arnie. Enterbay for me hands down all the time. They're striving for realism. Hot Toys standards are gradually slipping.
They also need to retire the PERS system too. It's far too hit and miss.

I have Indy, I'll get this for the iconic nature of the pose, but clearly these two are at the back end of the DX line. Too bad really.

Ok so after sleeping on it for a day and relooking at the pics of this guy so far, I'm actually more excited to get this guy. I love the new sculpt, so glad they revised that prototype. I think they just about nailed the likeness, still not sure about the pers yet, will make that call when I have it in hand but I think it turn out looking fine. I think it can be made to look bad in certin poses but then so can anything.

I know theres mixed reactions to this figure right now but after the smoke settles and people get it in hand I think this will be the the best 1:6 t-2 arnie out there. I love mms117 and still think its a great figure, heck I have three, but this dx sculpt really does match arnies true likeness, the one thing that looks abit better on mms117 is the leather outfit though, it fits the scale better and has a more worn look. Lets see how I feel monday.
