Most HT Iron Man figs have some sort of weathering like that. They are intentional.

This looks SO GREAT! Can't wait to get it, just wished they wouldn't do the stupid scuffing. If I want it scuffed I can scuff it myself and it will look better than the stupid fake scuffing. Luckily it's minimal.

Is the diecast element softening the sharpness of the armour on these new figures do you think?
Dunno, compared to say the Mark VII it looks softer? I remember opening the Mark VII and being blown away by the sharpness, the colour intensity and the sharpness of the armour? I don't have any of the diecast figures yet so just an observation based on pics.

Personally I don't see any softening of details (and was very happy with my WM MK II in-hand) but it'd be cool to see some professionally done side-by-sides, for comparison's sake.
