Quite a few One:12 Collective figures are popping up, and I'm covering the Modern Captain America tonight, with Daredevil coming soon. Cap is nice...but not quite as nice as some of their other releases, with a few more nits to pick. You can find my review here:

or with the rest of the reviews at the usual:

Thanks for reading!

Great review!

Have to say the design isn't the best here. I like it but it's called the "Modern" Cap but the pants, simulated chain mail and some of the other design ques kinda look ol skool to me while the boots and helmet look high tech tactical gear. This just strikes me like one of the Sideshow Marvel character designs...an amalgamation of old, new and reimagined designs which makes it less comic booky and more Mezco interpretation. I'd prefer more straight comic book renditions of the characters.

That being said, I enjoy this line. I agree that it seems to strike the right cord between play-ability and collectible and I too am almost a completist for this line. I don't collect Universal Monsters and will likely not buy the Space Ghost, Diabolic (sp?) and some of the other DC/Marvel variants.

I hope Mezco can right the ship on the release dates and eventually hit the one fig per month schedule they are aiming for. So far, they are rather hit or miss.

Can't wait to see what else they are planning from here on out as they are one of the only companies with both the DC and Marvel license and produce them in the same scale with similar styling. That's exciting in and of itself! DC vs Marvel match ups! Supes vs Hulk! Batman vs Daredevil! Flash vs Quicksilver(whoops...no mutants :()

Will be getting the "Modern" Cap as want to turn him into JOHN WALKER as Cap as he was in "The NEW INVADERS". Add a lighter or darker blue camo pattern to those pants and make the 911 victims Shield he wields as well as his old school US AGENT Eagle and elcro shield.

Go perfectly next to "Classic" Cap.

Cannot wait for Commander Steve Rogers in his SUPER SOLDIER uniform (so much have Two ordered).

Michael. Was curious why you said the hips not so good.

If you check my photos "Classic Cap" you can see he sits well (have in driving the Jeep) & also doing the splits, sat on a couch.

I presume classic and modern share the same body as will Commander Rogers too.

My only niggle is they did not give him better shoulder articulation akin to Dredd where the arms come across the chest better and holding a weaspon (again Trigger finger hand would have been nice) as modded his grip hand to individual Trigger finger.

Bar that think Cap articulation wise is the Best Mezco have done to date. Had to mod Dredd to get improve the hips and torso.

My mony is on Frank Castle possibly being the BEST articulated body, Well Hoping so.

You know it's funny but I really like this slightly altered take on Cap and I usually don't like that stuff. The pants seem to fit, but I do wish they had a little more detail with extra panels or something but it still works to me. On the other hand I loathe what SS did to Wolverine and most of their Gi-Joe figures. I think the Skull and Punisher look good too but I'm on the fence with Daredevil, Spider-Man and Deadpool.
