I think they may have ratted her out because she became too powerful. Maybe framed her as the big boss somehow. States evidence? Maybe threatened her husband?

I don't think so because of the produce truck.

Either way, we know Red has a knack for being a harda$$ so I am sure she got very comfortable in her new position with the 'gang.' It will be interesting to see exactly how it all went down.

I think every scene with Pensatucky is golden. Every time I see her I start laughing before she even does anything.

Yeah, I really hope that we get to see more resolutions, come season 2. It makes me wonder, though, if they'll sort of just spin the intitial stuff out of the book, and sort of make it a more fictional series to keep it going longer. Maybe follow different characters in the prison, see Piper's life after she gets out, etc.

Anybody else miss Chapmans ex roommate? I really felt sad and hated how we saw her last. Hopefully she'll be in season 2.

Yeah, Ms. Claudette was awesome. You just felt so bad when you saw the combination of why she was in there, how she was hoping to get out, what happened, and how an unfortunate event, that was the biproduct of someone being forced to act a certain way, led to that conclusion.

I don't know, that character drives me nuts. Her ignorance is hilarious, but the fact that there are actually people like that makes her all the more cringeworthy. Suffice it to say, I found the finale very satisfying.:lol

I quite liked the way that Chapman helped out Pennsatucky is the final episode:

She helped her get her new teeth! :lol

I went from liking Chapman and Healy to actually really not liking either of them... for Chapman I assume this was intentional due to her personality. I grew to like more of the other inmates, but maybe Chapman will have a good look at herself in season 2.

Really enjoyed it! :)

PsychoCenobite :horror

Great show. Watched the whole season this past weekend. Hope Mendez and Healy have it coming....hate those guys.

I had a feeling Healy was bad news from the start. Him and his "lesbian activity" issues from the get go. Pensatucky deserves everything she gets and I agree Mendez needs to go down!

Me too. I mean, no one should murder anyone, but Claudette was a pretty nice woman deep down and you could tell she really liked Chapman. I think she felt like she finally had an inmate she could get along with. She just got emotional (as one would) about not being released and she cracked. :(

At first, I thought he might be a sympathetic character, and that the "lesbian activity" stuff was his way of saying to be careful, as you're in prison. It didn't take long to figure out that he was just a ****ing ***hole.

I absolutely loved the "scared straight" episode. I loved the dichotomy between the awkwardness in Pousse's talk with the handicapped girl (which was one of the most hilarious things on the show), and the severity of Piper's. On the subject of Pousse, I really hope that we get her backstory in season 2.

I think something happened to Red's husband, perhaps killed by the drug/mob men? I remember Nicky telling Red to look forward to Christmas because her sons would visit, but there was no mention of her husband.

Yes, I thought for sure Miss Claudette would be freed. That definitely threw me off when it was revealed her appeal was denied. I do hope it isn't the last time we see her, though it'll be interesting to see how they bring her back into the show since she was sent to "max," if they do intend to bring her back at all.

Exactly. I can't stand her, especially knowing full well there are people just like her running around in the real world. Blech. I doubt she's dead, because I think she's just going to get new teeth as foreshadowed, but I really hope she's gone to be with her Lord.

I feel the same way. Originally I thought Healy was sympathetic and kind, but a bit ignorant and homophobic at the same time. Now I think he's a jealous, insecure and vindictive jerk. And I know the show centers around Piper, but honestly she and Alex annoy me. I would much rather the show focus on the other characters.

On the subject of Pousse, I really hope that we get her backstory in season 2.

I think we will. They didn't want to (and couldn't) fit the backstories of all the supporting characters into one season, so I think next season we will get the stories of people like Lorna, Black Cindy, Poussey, and Norma.

Some characters, like Yoga Jones, have a pretty straightforward story that's already been told verbally, so perhaps their backgrounds won't be shown. Speaking of Yoga Jones, I have a fun fact! The actress that plays her, Constance Shulman, provided the voice for Patti Mayonnaise in the Nickelodeon and Disney cartoon series, Doug.

Holy crap. I knew I recognized her voice! Every time she spoke I thought she sounded familiar but I couldn't place it. Wow, Patty must have had a rough life after she and Doug broke up! Roger was NOT good for her!

I started this last night and I'm actually really enjoying it. Just finished episode 3.

When I kind of break down the show, I do wonder why I like it though. It seems like it's aimed more towards women, especially when thinking about the "plotline" even though its more of a sequence of events that goal driven story. I think the fact I was a big fan of Prison Break lingers around when watching it, as I'm getting an opposite viewpoint in some sense.

But then, when I put all the plot points aside, it's the acting, pacing and the writing that really stand out to make this a great show to watch. Definitely looking forward to watching more this week.

I felt the same way about Weeds at first. Then around the 4th episode I was singing Little boxes on the hillside.

I have 3 more episodes to watch and so far I find it less than compelling and a bit too predictable the acting is great but the rest just mediocre.

When watching "Lilyhammer", "House of Cards" and "Arrested Development", the other Netflix originals, I didn't want them to end and couldn't wait to watch the next episodes.

With "Orange is the New Black", I really don't much care what is coming next and am actually looking forward to this thing ending so I can get on to something else. I keep expecting this to get more interesting and it just isn't.

Spoiler:

I just don't understand why she broke down so compeletly after being in solitary for less than 48 hours.

I just want to add... I hate the opening credits. Despise the song and really hate the black and white close up photos. Those pictures are just ugly and unappealing.

My wife and I have to leave the room while the open is playing.

I could...

I was just stating my opinion, I was not denigrating the people who like it nor their opinions which are just as valid as mine.

No need to be nasty.

As far as SHU goes, I think it's mostly because it was a reality check, and she, who lived a relatively pampered life beforehand, wasn't ready for that kind of treatment.
