A few points....I agree with a vast majority of what Mr. Card has to say, however I think it a little odd he stooped to name calling. All he really needed to was to state facts and let his readers make up their minds. Still he seemed mighty pissed, and that can color one's writing.

Well he's been dealing with similar issues for a while now. I know Card has been pushing to get Ender's Game made into a movie for a long, long time, but he is extremely picky about what they can and can't do with his story, so it makes sense that he would be well aware of Rowling's mistakes in this issue since he's been battling the studios with similar problems for years. It's been bothering him since I can remember. And now that he's starting to make some progress in that regard (finally), this kind of stuff kind just kind of smacks him in the face. Plus his kids own kids read Harry Potter as much as anything he's ever written lately (if not more), so it's an issue that's always on his mind. But then, he's often not as serious as people think, so this may be one of those times.

I thought the tone of the whole piece was tongue-in-cheek to make the point of how dumb JK's lawsuit is.

It is; but then, so is pretty much everything he does. Still, I think there was a lot of seriousness in some of his perspectives.

I don't think that was his point. I took it as him using that as an example to show that her lawsuit is bull^^^^, just like his claim would be, while also taking a shot at her.

totally missed that angle.
