I'm not trying to win online points or whatever. I'm in the same boat, I order what I order because I like it. I don't try also to take to heart what others say.
I've got this on order showing that I still have hopes it'll be the bees knees.

But I'm going to acknowledge low quality when I see it. Even if the one I saw was the lesser of what's out there... it still was crap for $600 AUS. That piece should not have left the factory.

I agree. It's as simple as not liking the piece quality, then returning it.

When I first got this forum, I used to take what everyone's opinion was to heart... But now, meaning no disrespect, I could care less. Every statur I've owned I read countless complaints about before purchasing them. And all of them showed up looking better than expected.

Especially the newest cap.

This is a great place for deciding if to order or not. If everyone glossed over issues then that wouldn't be the case.

I passed on the BD T-800 because of reviews on this site and would of saved a lot of hassle if I waited to see how bad the Big Chap LSB turned out.
Loads of people have cancelled the Iron Patriot because of honest, justified, critisism of first production piece pictures.

But think about the first Wonder Woman pics we saw. If I had cancelled then I'd have missed out on one hell of a statue that honestly blew me away. It's not always the case that the first pics are what we all will get in hand.

I'm talking about the Sideshow production piece pictures.
T-800 had red eyes, awful t-shirt and concave shins, exactly what was delivered.

Making informed choices with the help of pictures and honest opinions is what we need.

But I definately always wait until I get the piece in hand before I make final judgment on my piece. But the one I saw last night at the store in person, i know it sucked. The size was most impressive though, even watching reviews didn't prepare me for it. That was like wow!!

Still I'll end on the most important note (for SS).. The paint app wasn't to standard at all

I thought the same thing about Red Sonja and Lara Croft. I don't mind criticism of a statue as long as it's realistic. When pics come out that are a letdown seems like there is a tendency for peeps to rip it to shreds and/or over analyze every little potential flaw. Then come the mass cancellations, inevitable comparisons to neca figures, and the people who tell you youre trying to dupe yourself into liking it just to justify the money you spent.

I know most of it is venting and it is possibly helpful for peeps who need to decide foregoing the shipping hassle of a return (also for people like me who've been on several impossible waitlists this year )- it just sux because it tends to kill the buzz you have about a statue that you think despite some minor changes is still pretty awesome.

I will say that the variation in the quality of paint apps across SSC products should be addressed. The new J Scott Spidey Com is a perfect example where some of the pieces appeared to be painted by 5 year olds and the others by pros. I would say that they have to go to the production plants and ban the use of black washes on their piece to achieve the black fills the sometimes do because the results are so damn inconsistent. I am kind of thinking that because the green and grey don't have the deep blacks the red does you won't see the inconsistent paints... Especially on the faces

What rubs me the wrong way is he reminds me of this guy turned green, sporting a tiara...

Look back at this thread and you will see that I did not care for the hair.. The photo you posted was an issue for me. But I warmed up to it and decided to get it.. I tell you know... His hair does not look like that... This is IMO the best hulk SSC has done... I have owned them all. This one.... You can feel his power and strength.
