I have to admit I have become increasingly more interested in doing custom heads myself. I'm a little slammed with work, some upcoming vacation, and other personal projects but I plan on trying a custom head myself real soon. This probably isn't the place to do it but I'm curious how you create the head so it fits a specific statue? Do you have to scan the original head so the attachment point matches up? I see your sculpts are mostly just the head but how do you assure that your head will fit the statue? Oh, and are you planning on 3d printing, molding, and painting as well?
Getting the right angle also. I'd of thought you'd need an impression or scan.Even with photos that's gonna be impossible to get perfectly flush. How do the pro customizers get that part correct? Constant 3d print trials? Or actually scanning the original head?

They print the sculpt, then hack it up with knives/carving tools, and use a quick drying clay or putty to make it a perfect fit. Then they cast/produce it after the clay/putty dries. it after the f
