Sculpts are looking really nice Spidey! You've really improved a lot!!

Thank you so much sarakawa..... I owe a lot to guys like you, JAWS, Josh, Savage, and many others here who have been giving me some great input. That plus a few other major pushes, and a lot of studying have allowed me to progress way further and faster than I would have thought possible.... I still have so much to learn, and I can't wait to do it...:duff:

Spidey, watching your work progress has been amazing. You are beyond talented!

Thank you savage ... It has been an AWESOME learnign experience. I can honestly say that I had my doubts a few times, but that they are gone. My attitude when it comes to this will never be "I can't do it"... It will always be " l can't do it ... YET!!"... Till I do... Lol

Thanks Krz.... I hope to be really good at this one day.... And if I can give back to this community as I go so much the better.

I have to admit I have become increasingly more interested in doing custom heads myself. I'm a little slammed with work, some upcoming vacation, and other personal projects but I plan on trying a custom head myself real soon. This probably isn't the place to do it but I'm curious how you create the head so it fits a specific statue? Do you have to scan the original head so the attachment point matches up? I see your sculpts are mostly just the head but how do you assure that your head will fit the statue? Oh, and are you planning on 3d printing, molding, and painting as well?

Well I have a local molder and caaster wh is ordering the Grey Hulk PF, and has Cap... and I also have another buddy who is getting the Green.. So I am going to 3D print with some dimensions in mind, and then I am going to key in off of a cast from the actual neck of the statue.. Then I will have to do some traditional sculpting with Aves to make the tie in smoother, and then mold and cast the whole thing.

Getting the right angle also. I can see a sculptor making a peg but the two pieces, bottom of neck and shoulders, need to sit flush also.

Some awesome custom work! Vs the reg head you win :rock

Thank you very much FS.... :duff

I will be casting off of the neck to make the key and then tie it in to my sculpt.... However, if any one would like to do a Freaky Brother a solid and take pictures of the head and neck keys off of the Rulk that would be awesome....please...lol

Thank you so much toycrypt... Any chance you could take the head off and tak a picture of the peg/slot on both the head and the neck

Even with photos that's gonna be impossible to get perfectly flush. How do the pro customizers get that part correct? Constant 3d print trials? Or actually scanning the original head?

They print the sculpt, then hack it up with knives/carving tools, and use a quick drying clay or putty to make it a perfect fit. Then they cast/produce it after the clay/putty dries. it after the f

Yeah I will print my sculpt up using measurements from the actual Hulk PF, The head will be hollow. Then I will fill the with something like Aves Apoxy Sculpt, and then I will meld it to the neck to get a mold. Then I tweak the sculpt to fill all of the holes to line it up with the neck. There is also the fact that molder is damn good at this stuff as well... lol.
