Yeah my guy is a painter as well... Only problem is his equipment doesn't work great if it gets to cold.... So let's hope their are no delays into the winter...lol

That's great! He will be able to match color with ease then!

I was tempted to get the maquette, but I don't like the pose. It's not animalistic/savage enough for me to depict the hulk.

I hear ya' Ty. I also have the Hulk Avengers Maquette and am also finding the pose somewhat static for a Hulk character. I understand what you mean by more animalistic and savage. I'll be selling mine as soon as the 1:3 Scale Avengers 2 Hulk Cinemaquette goes up for PO by ECC :rock now that one i like! ;)

If you are sculpting and selling the heads of Marvel or DC characters, are you required to pay any royalties to the parent companies, or inform them at all of your production?

Only once you get the cease and desist letter [emoji38]

They will never find out, as they look for hints of such activty on the Customs board...

It is abit of a grey area to be honest, but only so far as that Marvel/Disney isn't hauling down all of the artists selling prints of Marvel Characters at the various Cons, and make no mistake those artists aren't paying Marvel royalties. Not even the ones that work FOR Marvel. Now, trust me when I say there is a BAN on Disney characters though. So I will completely honest, IF approaching Disney/Marvel would end up in me being able to do these portraits as a license set under SSC, I would do it in a heart beat. However, if I were to do that I would immediately get hit with a cease and desist order, and that would be the ball game.

The only reason I am doing this is for the community as I already have a few other sculpts for myself so to speak. I can't give these away, but I am not looking to get rich. I want to give back to the community in my own way if possible.

Thank you spidey. You're the Grand Poobah!

I think what I've seen is very promising and I plan on keeping up with the progress. I love having new display options.

I also think that not producing it on a mass scale and selling commercially is the big factor. You can privately commission any artist or sculptor to draw or sculpt anything and there is no way to be stopped or get into trouble. Now if that same artist were to advertise the art and try to sell it commercially thats very different. On a forum where someone is doing this for themselves and other people are requesting it from them is different from someone marketing it to the forum for the purpose of sales. Just my outlook
