Hear Yee, Hear Yee! These new hulks will be better than the original pf. Collect all three hulks pf ex and get that bonus feeling of powa!

I vow your trusty words and second this notion. The king has spoken, I dub thee Duke of Hulk!

As a previous owner of the Original PF, I can honestly say that the new PF will not replace the OG Hulk. The OG is sculpted very well and without a doubt has SSC best Hulk paint apps ever.

Having said that... there is a reason I sold it... Other then needing funds I did find the piece expendable due to the pose and face sculpt... Even thought the face sculpt is a great Kirby style it just is not my fav head sculpt for a hulk statue.. The pose always came across as slow and lumbering and not what I think of when I see hulk getting ready to through a punch.

I regret selling it because I have all the other Hulk pieces and it was without question a quality statue. It was the first, it's as heavy as 10 year old, it is painted beautifully, and has great skin texture and detail. It will never be replaced... Even if this new piece in hand comes out and everything is perfect and the paint apps are amazing, the OG will always hold it's own as a classic SSC statue. Lets not forget about the low ES number also.

I think those that don't own it are too eager to have it replaced by another Hulk statue. Those that do own it are too unwilling to accept that another Hulk might be better... In the end... Who Cares???

Just this Hulk fan's opinion.

I agree about this piece being strong on its own. Two totally different versions of the Hulk and I own (upon reciept) both of them as individual pieces. It is simply my own opinion that the OG Hulk will never be topped in paint and artistic quality.

Passed on the OG Hulk and this new PF. Neither are my cup of tea. I need a more modern and raging looking Hulk PF. Didn't like the head sculpt or pose on the OG PF and this new one doesn't have a head sculpt I like on it either. SSC needs to put Gore Group on the next Hulk PF and enough with the Kirby inspired head sculpts already. Canale is the one I want to see tackle the next Hulk PF. I trust him to give us a phenomenal modern take on a dynamic and raging Hulk. Most importantly, no one else should be working on the head sculpt for the next Hulk PF except Canale. We already have 2 Kirby/ape looking Hulk portraits and I don't want a Bieber hair style on the next PF either. I actually hope the next PF doesn't even have a COH. If SSC nails a raging modern portrait, I'll be happy with just that. No need for a seam on his neck if the portrait looks great. If SSC is going to give us an EX feature, have it be something that can be added to the base. Anything else on his body would just add needless seams to the figure. My painful wait for a 1/4 scale green Hulk statue that I want to add to my collection continues.

What if there was a kickass affordable custom modern raging head for this bad boy???? Lol. I have so many customs ready for this one, but for some reason I feel like the best may be yet to come.

It is funny though even if I get this one I will be sculpting my own 1/4 Hulk.... I gotta do it... Lol. I even had one started, but it isn't good enough. Gonna start from scratch

I just want to make sure because of the high praise it gets 7138_press01-001.jpg This is the OG hulk right?

Hulk is Kirby...it'll never go anywhere
Sorry, Kirby Hulk hasn't been around in comics since the 60's. There's a reason for that. I understand his importance to the character but that version of the character hasn't been around for decades.

I think the OG hulk as a statue is awesome but the things that make it so great are just lost on me.

1. I dont care how much a statue weighs (this is something almost everyone says about this statue how heavy it is)
2. Jack Kirby hulk is not "my" hulk
3. I really dislike the pose.

The presence and the paint app are just phenomenal though. I can admire that, just not for me.

I'll admit the older green PF has grown on me quite a bit but I'm still not a huge fan of the dodo bird / turnip style head/haircut. Kirby's looked more Frankensteinish didn't it? I don't really get that from the new piece. This is the Hulk I grew up with(other than Ferrigno lol), I think the new EX is close enough to satisfy me:

I am with you there.... If you like Kirby that is fine... But even this PF is not really Kirby... I think people forget how much Different Kirby's artwork looked compared to the PF

It's Kirby inspired to be sure... But it begins and ends in the face sculpt and that's about it.

His importance to the character is noted but if his representation of the Hulk was so great then why are there no real statue representations of him? Actually there is the one that was done that was made to look like Hulk issue #1. It's actually a pretty great statue.

I know Kirby was first but that is like saying this is the best wolverine because it was first.
I am sure there are those that like it... But I am willing to bet its not many peoples favorite.

There are a lot of guys who swear that anything after Buscemia isn't really the Hulk. There are very few characters I draw that get the positive comments like the Hulk, but my old school penciler mentors and friends always try to push me towards Trimpe and Kirby...lol.

If you have seen it then you will know that it just doesn't weigh a lot .... It has a feeling of mass that very few statues have. It feels like there is something seriously heavy there, and you don't have to do a single curl. Now, I can't judge the new Green Hulk PF, but the Rulks I saw sure had a similar feel.

I have thought about taking a shot at that style as I grew up with it as well.... That and a modern one as well

Kirby's importance to the art form can't be overstated, but his style doesn't necessarily lend itself to statue form. Especially for a lot of us who at children of the 80s and 90s.

The only thing Kirby related on both PFs is the portraits. Kirby never drew Hulk as huge or muscular as the PFs. Hell, Kirby drew him with 4 fingers on each hand. I just want a modern Hulk free of any Kirby influence. I'm a HUGE Batman fan. I wouldn't want any thing to do with a Bob Kane inspired PF. Not when so many artists drew his creation better than he did. I feel the same way with the Hulk.

I used the term presence. I understand what you are saying and I was saying in response to the top things people mention (that I see) about it. As far as " the feeling of mass" yeah its big but i also feel it has a goofy look to it that doesn't show off hulk as I would like. I think its a nice statue just not my cup of green tea.
