If the head and body were one piece, therefore a better match, I'd buy this... Or the Grey version.

Sarah Jo has great pics over at SF that show the differences are very minimal

I can not stress this enough... In regular room light you can not se any difference in color. If I use a flash camera or shine a flash light right on his face then yes I can see the difference.. Personally I don't think that should be the thing to hold one back. Same goes for the seam... You can view him from most any angle and not see except for a straight shot of the left or right side.

Camera flash makes every statue look worse and that sort of lighting is never going to be used for displaying collectibles anyways. In-hand always trumps pictures.

The seam line isn't as perfectly wrapped around the jaw and the ear as the EX is

One side is better then the other... I don't have pics of the other side...

The Ex head has the much better fit. the reg head looks Ok but not as good. The paint apps are a bit more "off" also. But again it looks good in regular lighting. I will try and get a shot of the reg head from the other side in a bit.

I been meaning to post this..... Be Careful when switching heads. The magnets are very strong. When switching heads yesterday the reg head pulled right out of my hand and locked in place and chipped the paint on the neck a bit... Easy fix but I could see it being a problem for many if not careful.
