The angry head is Modern...granted not Keown/Deodato modern but it does have a McGuiness feel to it.

I mean this sort of modern. Angry, intense and mean. The current "modern" head looks ridiculous. His jaw bones protrude out from his face so much it doesn't even look human, nor does it look like the Hulk in my opinion. It doesn't fit with the body ether, they look like they're from two different characters. Overall it's just a very bad sculpt and should not have been approved.

Well I kinda of dig it, but that's me. You never know though. It isn't up for PO so there's a shot they could rework it.

I couldn't agree more Chris. I'm hugely disappointed with both head sculpts and think they both look off. This Kirby head sculpt doesn't compare to the original PFs. Also, the other head sculpts hair and massive jaw just look bad to me. If they would take the raging red Hulks head sculpt and tweak it a bit (hair and eye brows), we'd have a good modern head sculpt. My biggest issue is the art direction. How could SSC not include a modern head sculpt? It makes no sense unless they are planning another green PF that will be a modern version. If that's the case then I truly hope it will be a Martin/Gore group production. And I mean ALL of it. Art direction, body, base, and head sculpt. As much as I love Andy's work and think he's one of the greatest sculptors alive, I hope he has nothing to do with the next Hulk PF. He just seems to be locked into that old school Kirby look for Hulk and I'm tired of seeing those portraits for the Hulk. Maybe it's SSC insisting on these face portraits or it's just Andy's vision of the Hulk but I'm hoping for a completely different creative team on the next green PF.


Modern + raging + green + PF = PO. That's my equation. I'm bitterly disappointed in this green Hulk PF. I have already decided to pass on all of them (I do think the other 2 look good but I only have room for a green PF). Unless another modern PF is in the works...I don't know what else to say. With the green PF having a COH option, it boggles the mind why one of them isn't a modern head sculpt.

OMG!!! The Grey and Green look spectacular to me. I'm all in for the Green. FINALLY Hulk will be mine. I hope I can get Superman's reward points before they release big Green So stoked for this. One of my must have pieces with only Iron Man to go

Green! It is the only iteration of hulk I care about, and I actually love the face sculpt. Things out of all of them, it looks like the best "get the **** away from me" out of all the faces. And I like that most because to me, the hulk is good, just constantly tested...

I'm reasonably new to this hobby. And you are more than welcome to voice your own opinion, but the way you guys are insulting the art someone made is pretty ridiculous. Voice why you don't like it, voice that your not getting it, but it's art none the less. It may not be your cup of tea, but it is to others. And it is someone's best effort.

All in all, just don't slander it so hard. If you don't like it, don't buy it. But don't be disrespectful... Please.

However, please keep in mind that this is the 1st green PF released since the original. As great as that piece is, their are plenty of peeps that do not like it. Not because it isn't well done but because it's not the take on the Hulk that many of us like. We have waited years for THIS moment. A chance at another green PF and a modern take on the character. To see that the wait was for nothing is frustrating as all hell. I know that you just started collecting but keep in mind some of us have waited a loooong time for a modern take on this character in PF form. We have a right to state our problems with the piece. As I've said, we have COHs with the green PF. How in the world is one of them not a raging modern head sculpt? I can't think of a single reason as to why one wasn't included. Not everyone wants an old school Kirby Hulk in their collection.

I do hope that everyone ordering enjoys the PF. If you like it, that's all that should matter. If you think this PF is getting trashed, you should have seen the venom being spewed in the green Hulk COM thread. That makes this look like a walk in the park. Never let other peeps opinions tarnish how you feel about a piece. You should know what you like or don't like. However, peeps just aren't always going to agree on things. It's a part of life. So long as disagreements are respectful...everyone should be heard. And it should have no bearing on how you feel about the piece. Hopefully you'll enjoy it for many years to come.

I'm sorry you did not like the way it turned out. Hopefully they will surprise you with a modern hulk CoH! it's all good. I hope you have a speedy recovery and get back to work ASAP. Those are real world problems and I wish you all the best. I hope you get a chance to PO the new Hulk PF and enjoy it. Don't let anyone else's thoughts on it sway your excitement for the statue. There is a reason that you like it. As for me...my frustration and waiting continues.

Okay, been thinking long and hard this weekend about which of the new Hulk PF's to pre order and I've finally made a decision. What I had to bear in mind was that I already own the original Hulk PF, the Movie Avengers Hulk Maquette plus I have the Gladiator Hulk on PO. So basically, what I took into consideration was the plans i'll be making when it comes to displaying each of those that I already own. So for instance, the original Hulk PF is one of my 'I WILL NEVER SELL' pieces plus it will make up part of my iconic Marvel Comic Avengers Display as shown in this pic by another fellow collector

Plus I share the same feelings as Pitu does when it comes to his Hulk PF... and he loves his!

As for the Movie Avengers Hulk Maquette, I am also planning to have a similar Avengers Display as the above Comic line-up but obviously with the movie characters. So Hulk is there, then I've got the Gentle Giant Movie Black Widow which will go with Hulk, plus the upcoming Sideshow Movie Captain America and then hopefully we'll get to see a new 1/4 version of the Iron Man MKVII which apparently is going to happen very soon

Gladiator Hulk I think deserves a display slot all by himself...he is that epic and HUGE either that or i'll have him displayed alongside the new Apocalypse PF (if my WL hopefully converts)

So that just leaves me with which of the new Hulks to PO, if any! Although at this moment in time, like for most of us collectors, its very difficult to not be dragged into all the hype surrounding such a massive character and a new PF altogether. So while I'm aware of this I still think that you can go much wrong with Hulk and in this instance, I will have to over rule my usual cut off point of not having more than one of the same character in my collection and pre order me a GREY and GREEN Hulk...I think these two will display great together and as mentioned before, you cant really go wrong with Hulk so as it stands, that's where I'm currently at...however, a lot will depend on the final reveal to see what extras we'll get for the Exclusive versions, then there is of course the price!

I have both the Hulk and Thor PFs. I am planning to have an Avengers display. Was thinking of getting IM, Hawkeye, and BW. The only issue I have is with Cap. Not looking to pay premium for the old one so was thinking of using the new one. But of course it will look silly due to the new Cap being modern . So I'm thinking of MAYYYBE getting the Green version to throw in the mix to accompany Cap. As for the other two, I'll definitely get them. Grey has a great head sculpt and Red Hulk has the rage head. Rage = Hulk IMO.

EDIT: Actually Cap doesn't look modern except his helmet. But the pants and belt make him look off with Classic Avengers.

Do you think so? I too have the original Cap PF and have the new comic Cap PF on PO aswell and for those who don't have the original should be excited about the new version. In some aspects I think its better will the new version Caps go with the comic avengers set up? I don't see why not...yes the pose is more dynamic rather than a standard museum pose like the original but I wouldn't class it as being any less modern than the original.

I personally prefer the Avengers display (obviously each to their own)...Hulk and the Thor PF's are some of Sideshows best in my opinion so congrats on those buddy

Would have given Ross his own look, instead of looking like a Banner palette swap.

Anyway, that was random. Watching the video of the Hulk statues, they all have something pretty cool about them, & at the same time, each one lacks something for me. If I had to pick, I think it would either be red or green.
