For the life of me I can't figure out why these international variants are always shrouded in secrecy? Be it Thing, Scarface, Spider-man or the zombie sitter NONE of them have ever been "publicly" addressed. Sideshow doesn't have another website strictly for the EU and abroad, so what gives? :dunno

I hate to think this way, but part of me supposes that they KNOW collectors will be pissed and so they repeatedly keep these items off the radar.

Via the edition size? The regular edition of the PZ PF didn't really sell out until after the low edition size was announced. What if I sold you something and said it had an uber low edition size, then turned around and made and sold an extra 175 of the same thing to Angus in Scotland and just dabbed an extra word on the bottom of the base? Would you be happy? I really don't see the difference in this and, say, forced perspective to make a figure look shorter in photos. It's all deceptive marketing.

Then again, this thing could turn out to be a bootleg and the whole statement above wouldn't mean a hill of beans. And in that situation, the only people getting shafted would be the poor schleps who bought one thinking it was legit. :lol

racist :lol

I think I would have to disagree with that, though. Making an informed decision is always preferable to being kept in the dark. If Sideshow had announced, on day one, that there were three "editions", an exclusive, a domestic regular, and an international regular, most people would have had no problem with it (at least I wouldn't). Of course, that presupposes that there would have been some announced difference between the domestic and international editions.

:lol :rotfl :lol

I think they keep it low profile because revealing it would likely make us want it and limit the amount actually available to their international customer base. Yet, if that's the case, there's some hypocrisy in that international customers always have a stab at the regular exclusives as well as the "domestic" exclusives (though I think "domestic exclusive" is just an excuse for a low run :lol).

The funny thing is when they do offer the EU exclusives for sale on the site, it seems like they instantly take them down once they're sold. Example...the Blonde Sitter. She was up during spook and now shes no where to be found on the site. As if it never existed.

Go back a page or two to where I posted links of Int. Ex.'s. She's still up on the website, just not accessible via The Dead product page. Though, to the best of my knowledge, she never was available through that page anyway.

Informed decisions are of course preferred, but I have to wonder how far along SS plans these international variants/versions. If they were planned all along that's one thing, if they decided after the sell-out of the "domestic version" then you can understand (while disagreeing) why the secrecy! :dunno

I'm with you though, just make it known from the beginning; I don't see the harm in that, and certainly not in making it known on the website.

:peace

Yeah, I thought of that too, but I don't think we (domestic customers) could make much of a dent in international sales, since many international vendors won't ship to the US, and we wouldn't be able to order it direct from Sideshow.

Heh, I thought they took her down. Thats pretty much the only way to find blonde. She won't come up in any search on the site.

Although Play.com does not, several do though, and there's always ebaY. EbaY and ForbiddenPlanet.com were the two best ways to track down blondie before Sideshow snuck her into a semi-contest Spook. Matter of fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it was U.S. orders that sold her out at FB. Like zombies, us Dead collectors are a ravenous bunch. :p

Yeah :lol, I googled her for that post and was surprised to see Sideshow's site listed first.

I thought you had that paged saved, or something... from last halloween, lol.

Funny thing is I can see SS doing this more and more, since so many people are ordering and canceling items. But with PZ PF, there was a obvious outrage and SS responded by making more.

Still, theres only one version with extra hands.

The International Version of the Patient Zero features a different base
with language geared toward the region in which it was produced for.
There were 125 pieces made of this version and it was produced
specifically for distribution through select International Distributors.
Each variation of the Patient Zero is its own entity, with its own
edition size.

Please let me know if I can assist you further!

Best regards,

Well that's just PATHETIC. So they really have stooped to the level of changing nothing but the label under the base, and calling that a completely separate edition. I just don't know what to say.

Actually, I think I do. Prepare for Patient Zero Point One.

Man, that really sucks for those who picked up the regular. :( That excuse for the Int. Ex just to run off 175 more and turn more $$$ is bull^^^^. The irony is, if someone who owns a regular finds an Int. Ex base from someone who broke their PZ and puts their regular version on the Int. Ex base, they just scored an exclusive with a lower Es. Lack of credibility and accountability :rock :rock :rock!

Best regards,

still none the wiser..what language/text is different?

It looks like the "different text" is the part that reads "international edition."

This is lame.

They probably just got more overseas orders than they expected, so they just made more and added two words to the base.

Best regards,

Why was the one released in Hong Kong not in PinYin? :huh

I wonder if they'll pull this same stunt with other new pfs with low numbers. Maybe on the new, old Indiana Jones as well?

Talk about being misleading.
