Geez, I was being sarcastic about $300. Yikes...I didn't know you took it serious :). And yes, I was willing to pay the going rate for the PZ back then. Now, I'm not too certain about it. If I pay $700 for it knowing that it has an ES of 100, then i don't mind losing $100 if I ever decide to sell it 5 years from now. However, I don't want to pay $700 for it and find out that Sideshow going to release 200 exclusive next month.

Oh trust me, I"m not bitter...it's just a hobby. I'll get one eventually if I know Sideshow is not going to release beyond 100 statues of the exclusive. Otherwise, I'll buy something else :) I'll be bitter if I bought one and then Sideshow creating more exclusive version :)

You were planning on paying "premium" for PZ? Is that why you just offered $300 for the EX a few pages back?

Last time I checked, an ES of 100 is ridiculously rare. An overall edition size of 425 total pieces is rare as well. If anything you are just bitter you can't find one at retail price and feel the need to cry to the masses about it.

On a lighter note, my 1st Flex payment posted on my prepaid Visa today. :banana

The edition size for the international version does not bother me in the least. But I can see why someone would be upset about the ES of the regular changing from 300 to 425. The regular PZ went back in stock for almost a week before it resold out again. Also, the limit was 2 on the regular. I really don't see the regular being that sought after down the road. If I didn't have an EX coming, I probably would cancel my regular and track down an international version. Now if they did an inernational exclusive, I might change my tune.:horror

If anyone is worried about not getting a regular, let me know as my two are gonna get cancelled in a couple days. The paint looks pretty good to me. The only thing that looks off to me is the pants. But they always looked goofy to me, even on the proto. I for one can't wait to have this guy in hand, and eagerly await the next DEAD PF. :banana

I am wrong about the wrist band... as Darth Pain pointed out over at Statue Forum, this is one picture of the regular that clearly shows the white band... so, I'm at a loss as to what is different.

Not-a-ding-dang-thing is different.

Well there is always the "international edition" inscription on the base. At least that is something different. ;)

BTW, I just canceled my regular order. If I can find one down the road at retail or less, I might get it. If not, no big deal either. Right now, I don't really care one way or the other.

I wouldn't count on it this time, Lonnie. We've seen pretty detailed photos of A XUN's piece from different angles, and I can't see any difference at all.

Yeah, but based on Sideshow's believes about exclusives, edition sizes and their past history, I think there must be some kind of difference. Looking at the eyes between the two, the Sideshow site pics are blueish, while the International are more white; this could just be paint apps, the flash photography or it may be the difference just like the Spider-man bust... hard to say at this point.

The dismissive comment that this has been done before - which comes as news to me, since the only "international versions" I have ever been aware of before have been international variants - is a feeble excuse. A stated ES should be the complete ES, not just for one locale or another, but for the entire run of a given piece. Otherwise, what is the point of even stating an ES in the first place?

True dat Robo to the best of my knowledge the "international" variants have always had their own ES - ex. the Scarface and Spider-man busts, as well as the Zombie Babysitter; so they have never just been clumped into the overall ES. For the record I think that they should be, or at the very least the international editions made widely known.

I am amazed that this is just now coming to light however? With all the international members we have here, how did it escape mention? The only explanation I can think of is that this is some kind of international retailer exclusive and now that these are shipping; retailers are opening up to it?

My guess is it's just the flash, or an inconsistency between the prototype and the production paint apps. But if that is the "difference" Sideshow is using to mark the international version, then I think they are really reaching. At least with the Spider-Man bust, the eyes were HUGE, and a clearly distinguishing feature. Changing the color of the tiny eyes on a PF from cloudy blue to cloudy gray is no real difference at all. At the very least, they could have given him a different color shirt, or something.

That armbad is weird to say the least. I though they put PZ's watch on the right arm (instead of the left like the 12" figure) to hide the changable arm seam on the exclusive version. But with the armband on the left arm, that seems to not be the case. It seems more logical to put the armband on the right and and keep the watch on the left arm just like the original 12" figure. Maybe I'm just being picky, but that makes more sense to me than what they did.

But I too am baffled to see what exactly the international differene is

FROM SIDESHOW

Thank you for your email. We appreciate the time you took to contact our
Customer Service Department and your interest in our products.

From time to time, we have International versions of items. Such as with
our Zombie line or main licenses like Scarface and Marvel. The
International versions feature slightly different aspects of the product
designed for that region.

If you are interested in the opportunity to purchase an International
version of any of our products, you may want to contact an International
vendor or check the availability on Ebay.

Please let me know if I can assist you further!

I hate it when they just send out a generic response like that. All we want to know is if this is a legitimate release (probably is) and what the difference is between it and the sandard version. Is that too much to ask?

I love Sideshow's customer service people. They are the best customer service people I've ever delt with, but a lot of the time I think we the collectors know more about what is going on at Sideshow than they do. I don't expect them to memorize every figure's accessory, but knowing about some of the exclusives and variants shouldn't be too much to ask.
