That sounds neat, I think my monitor is only 68 Hz . Any idea when the newer cards are going to be announced?
I believe June for AMD and probably shortly after that for Nvidia.

Wow, that was amazing. So EVE is going to tango with Star Citizen and Elite: Dangerous? Good times... Good times.
Yep! The more competition the better for us
Yep, unfortunately I just read EVE is exclusive to the rift, not plans for the VIVE. No competition there then which seems silly.
I guess that depends on how different the architecture of the competing goggles is. I haven't paid too much attention to VR, but isn't the headset basically just a monitor? Or is there way more to it than that?
If they start going down the path of exclusive releases for this tech, it's only going to mean early adopters are going to get both to keep up, and that sucks.

$2,700 for a fleet and $10,000 for Wing Commander. I'm done .
THere's a lot more to it than a display, but the way these two hmds work is pretty similar. They use a different tracking technology, but the basics of what they do is about the same. The major difference is the way the Vive is capable of tracking an entire room while Oculus has focused on a single camera tracking system similar to what Morpheus will use. A single camera means a much smaller tracking area. Vive also has an input solution (two modified Steam controllers that you use for in game input similar to the Move controllers, but more versatile and apparently flawless tracking) and we're still waiting to hear if Oculus has something planned for the Rift.
Anyone tried out Star Citizen?
