The same reason people get excited over low edition sizes. AP is to numbered limited edition as numbered limited edition is to open edition.

I'm just glad I got this thing. I expected it to sell out pretty quickly, but was still amazed when it did so in 8 to 9 minutes. I guess we'll be seeing more MK in 1:3 in the future given how well Scorpion did.

There's been a big hole in my living room ever since I got rid of Wolf and that's exactly where this baby is going.

I'm thinking of taking everything off the top of my Besta unit to display the 1:3 series. Apparenty it can support a lot of weight.

The problem is they're ****ing huge statues. Scorpion is roughly 28 inches right?

If I put my MK3 sealed signed (snes) between each Scorp and Sub...it would make for one killer display!

I see 0 correlation between a low ES and just a statue that has AP on the bottom of the base that is basically no more valuable than a statue with #1 on the base or 250.

To many people, no it isn't any more valuable. To some, it is. There are only 10 APs on something like this made, I think. So knowing you have something that there are only 10 of is more valuable in the eyes on many, or at least more interesting to have, than having something there is 250 of. And some people do assign a little more worth to having a #1 of an ES. You may not assign it any value, but you can't say there isn't any because to some there is. Value is a matter of perception... we are in a hobby where a figure from the 90s within a one word misprinting on the cardback can make a figure worth several times more than it otherwise should be.

I'm mostly ambivalent about APs. I own one, my Weta Azog, and it's numbered out of 50 instead of 500. It's cool, if I ever sell it then maybe someone will want to pay a little more for it because of that, maybe they won't. An AP is supposed to be a statue that is given a closer QC inspection... in theory. So some people have it in their heads that theirs is more perfect if it's an AP. That isn't my experience with APs as my Azog has several flaws I didn't see on others.

But anyway... the correlation is there. APs are out of 10 for PCS... other statues are out of 250, or 500 or 5000. Most collectors prefer to have the thing out of 10 pieces than the one out of 5000... that's the only correlation.
