PF or 12" line

The exposed joints is an issue, but I think it is usually a small sacrifice given the variety of poses the figures can assume. I prefer the look of the cloth over sculpted "fabric" too, but I really like the PF as a combination of amazing sculpts and cool costume work. Even something simple like Freddy Krueger's sweater looks great in fabric, adding another level of detail and craftsmanship.

I voted PF. Not a big fan of the "dollish" 12 inch figures. But I'm thinking about passing on the "new" Lotr stuff since so much is coming from Sideshow. I rather collect Star Wars and other random Sideshow stuff instead of the LOTR. I do have most of the Weta statues which is another reason to pass. Another reason I'm passing I see these lines losing value. And at the prices and with all the other stuff from Sideshow coming out I can't afford to throw money away.

With the Hobbit rumours coming out, if the movie does get made WETA will be doing the figures, so the SSW could have a comeback, and it will eventually happen.

Really? SSW? Weta has it's own collectibles company now. I don't forsee a SS/Weta partnership again anytime soon. Unless SS were to be a distributor...but then again why would Weta want that?

I will say this. The majority (not all) people/friends that have come to my place and are not LotR specific fans all gravitated towards the premium format figures.

Premium Format all the way for me...I think these are aimed more at the "collectable" market...whereas the 12" are just for playtime, hence the extra accessories and poseability..(is that a word???)...

Anyway, that's my $0.02 cent worth..

With all the newcoming statues and busts...etc, I probably will be having a space constraints by next year and I guess I will be cancelling my exclusive Legolas, aragorn and boromir 12"

It is really so difficult to decide (maybe I can change my mind when I receive the alert e-mail though )
