Brill photos.:clap With your sky shots do you expose for the sky in one pic and the rest in another pic and merge the two together?

The sky is beautiful in this one. Is it a HDR?

Thanks, guys! I use a graduated filter on my lens for sky photos, plus some post-processing in iPhoto/Photoshop to tweak as necessary. The first one was mostly done with a graduated filter, while the second was fixed more in Photoshop.

Thanks for the info. I'm relatively new to "advanced" photography, so I hadn't heard of these graduated filters before. Just did some reading and it sounds like this could come in handy a lot.
Can you recommend any specific brands? Also, how do I go about using one filter on different sized lenses, does that even work?
 
Not been by in a while,still some excellent shots in here,
Winter in the Lake District in England,
While out and about looking to photograph Low flying aircraft I have now started to shoot scenery more,The Lakes is breathtaking at this time of year (coooooooold but breathtaking lol)
