Bruce Springsteen is a member here?! :panic:

J/K. Welcome to the Photo thread ARCADE!

Hello fellow photography Freaks...I created a Facebook page for my photo business. I'd really love it if you could like it and share it with others! :)

I totally would, but I don't do Facebook. :1-1:

HAHA are you talking about the guy in the first image?

That's not me, that's Kevin Eastman the creator of the Ninja Turtles. Well co-creator. And Heavy Metal etc etc.

He showed me around his studio when it was on display because he was auctioning it off, and I got to take some pics of the place as well as him in some other shots.

Bump!

This thread is getting hard to find...

Been having trouble with my hosting lately which is why my art thread is pretty much non existent at the moment, but soon will be rectified. For the moment some new photography.

Well, you have me fooled. :D

Is that your boy?
Well thank you sir. :) I'm just starting out but enjoying it immensely. I've drawn and painted most of my life and just sort of transitioned into photography once my little guy showed up. Hard to find the hours to dedicate to my other art now. The almost instant gratification of photography is splendid. :) I'm mostly focusing on portraits though.

And yes, that's my little guy, Charlie. :)

Love they way that one turned out! Excellent candid shot.

Cute kid. :)

So are you actually doing any portraits professionally?

I recently bought a DSLR and have toyed with the idea of supplementing my income at some point.

I just created a facebook page earlier this month and have done a few free sessions for friends and family trying to get some word of mouth going... So I wouldn't say 'professionally' yet. Jumping feet first into an already saturated market I am. But I enjoy it. I have a few sessions booked for late spring/summer and a wedding ( totally stressed about that one ) in the fall. But I'm getting there. :)

It doesn't hurt to get your name out in your area though Mag. If you have some of the equipment it won't really cost you anything up front as you've already made the investment. Once the ball gets rolling you may be surprised.

I'm looking for a camera that has great macro or super macro capability. Does anybody have any suggestions? Hoping to find something that does not cost more than $600 altogether, and something that can take videos.

WOW. They look great. Where do you get the extension tubes? I really need to get a new camera as well. I have a point and shoot but I'm ready to dive into the SLRs.

Well actually my point and shoot died, so I am borrowing my mom's point and shoot....so I just have to bite the bullet and get something decent.

Here's the set I got for my Canon: [ame]https://www.amazon.com/Fotodiox-Canon-EOS-Extension-Close-up/dp/B003Y60DZO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333310341&sr=8-1[/ame]

They're a great way to do macro on the cheap. Not as versatile as a dedicated macro lens, but not $600 either.
