Got my HT narrow shoulder today. Have an advance on the way. I'm curious to see for myself which body I will like for Neo best.

I'm guessing the narrow will look better for his frame but I know there's some disagreement there depending on your preference.

Completely think that's the way to go Wor-Gar. When I tried the advanced I thought it looked like Keanu on roids!

Good.

Is the Advanced body really that buff? I have one coming that I figured I could use for something else but most of the custom figs I might make have a slimmer build.

It's a hair less buff than the Wolverine body but it's definitely buff.

I'm using mine for Sabertooth and it looks like his size. I also used it for Indiana Jones and it looked nice.

I don't prefer it to the narrow shoulder to be honest.

That's a good idea! Maybe I'll use it for Indy. I'm building a Karl from "Die Hard" and was hoping to use it for that but I think the Advanced may be too buff a build for him too.

Thanks for the info!

The advance is not really 'buffier' than a narrow. In fact, I would say the advance is more narrow and the waist is bigger hence a more natural waist line. Narrow can look a little thin around the waist sometimes.

The biceps are bigger though on the advance but if you are using the priest costume, the bigger biceps actually fills up the sleeve better.

I am currently using a narrow for my lobby neo and I find the waist too thin and his shoulders too broad. And the since the head is slightly undersized, he really looks like a pin head. Good news is, with a coat on, he looks fine.

Now I am researching if a slim would be a better choice for lobby neo. That looks the most like his body honestly.

I might just have to take apart my medicom spidey which I have replaced with a slim to test this theory out.

I think Marf had the balls to take the narrow arms and put them on an advanced body... for a perfect Lobby Neo. Not sure I want to do that, but I'll soon have both bodies so we'll see.

I'm late to this thread but you guys know that Hot Toys made a Neo about
8 years ago. Famous Type it was called. They show up on Ebay every now and then ( a little pricey as it's harder to find.) The clothing is dead on to the 1st Matrix film and it comes with some cool guns -film accurate.
I'll try to post more pics..with a good headsculpt as I rate it as average this would be the ultimate Neo.

I have that one. Not really up to today's standards in any way but great for its time back in 2002. I had hoped to use the boots or jacket or something but most everything on that fig can be found today in far better detail and scale.

Just got confirmation from davincisiman,
My Keanu head shipped!!
At last!!!
:rock!!
I got the Priest Neo outfit, and few of the parts for the Lobby Neo...
Still debating which version to do...

Now I just need the glasses from agonistes86!

Congrats Kuzeh :rock

I just wanted to mention that if anyone would like the shoulder harness I made, I would let it go for the cost of the materials ($15). I bought Stevo's rig, but I know there are a few out there still looking for a more affordable alternative.

I would also include the extra leather bits I didn't end up using, in case you'd like to make alterations. Anyhow, if you're interested just shoot me a PM :peace

All right, let's settle this ADVANCED VS NARROW....

I have both bodies now. Here's the comp:

And here's both bodies in NEO ATTIRE -- I tried to lighten the picture so you could the material better for those concerned that one body makes "funny lines"...

I have to say, I figured the narrow would be better for Neo... then when I first saw the bodies in hand I thought the advenced was in fact going to look more natural (its more realistic and balanced without clothes)... BUT IMHO with clothes on I think the narrow looks more like Keanu.

There's more V shape in the narrow and of course the arms are way too ripped on the advanced (check those triceps!).

Both seem to make an odd rib cage line, but you can pull and tuck the shirt to get rid of that.

With coat on, eithr will do -- and both look terrific really. It's a matter of opinion.

I'll post a few more compares...

Although I think the advanced is the best nude body on the market, the narrow looks to be the way to go!

Yes, definitely looks way better proportioned in the buff compared to the narrow. I like the advanced better as a body shape.

That said, like you, I do think the narrow works for Neo a little better.

Here's why:

As intended, the Narrow is just more slender and suits Neo's shape and even posture... while the Advanced just looks too buff (again, the shoulders and triceps really stand out).

Again though, I'm not trying to aggravate anyone who is using the advanced. With coat on, you'll never know the difference. Just sayin', if you have an extra Narrow laying around, its probably best to burn it on this custom and save the advanced for something else.

The upperarms do look a lot better on the narrow version.
The shape of the underarms seem a bit better on the addvanced, as the "bump" is lower and less pronounced (this could just be the angle of the pics though). That won't make any difference under the coat though of course.
I really dislike the chest of the narrow version though, it has that strange downward slope that just looks weird IMO.

At the end I think a combination would indeed be best, but if I had to choose (which I did) I'd take the advanced TT, because of the chest. I can always sand down the upper arms if they bother me, might do that at the end. I want to wait until I have Neo completely done though before I decide.

Thanks a lot for the comparison BTW. :)

Thanks for inspiring me to get off my duff, guys :wave

I found the Matrix Lobby Neo I had started about 5 years ago but never finished...had collected most of the parts for him. I even had an unpainted resin head, just had never gotten around to doing it. I had the N2 boots, an unused Triad set, and most of the weapons.

BTW, if anyone needs a pair of Sarah Connor pants, I dug through my parts box and found an extra set of the dirty ones from when I broke down the one I bought. I'd be willing to trade them off for a few sets of regular HT ankle pegs in any color (running way short on those ATM).

I bought Stevo's rappelling harness but decided to use the on I made out of nylon. If anyone is interested in the harness I'm just looking for $15 shipped. Just PM me :duff

Here's a pic of it on a narrow, all sections are adjustable.
