as long as there are no 20 minute scenes that involve captain jack and 100000 crabs then it should be ok.

Looks fantastic! I'm sad about Barbossa not being in his pirate garb as that means we won't get his 'classic' look in HT figure form :(

Hopefully by the end of the film he'll back in his orig garb...it is what he's known for...this new Captain Bligh look better be temporary.

They're voodoo zombies, not walking dead zombies. Big difference there. Voodoo zombies actually really make sense with the series.

They look dead..glassy eyes, pale and tight skin...in the novel Blackbeard made them from pirates and they were filled with sand or something..and he animates them through his power. During the fight scenes they lose body parts , get impaled, ect..so we could see some bones at some point...but no I wouldn't expect much blood..still Disney after all.

Wait, really Keira and Orlando made the last ones work? It seems they were what was wrong with the last two

Definitely not - the Jack/Will/Elizabeth dynamic was always one of the better things, even when the franchise started going downhill. The problem with the sequels for me was the overuse of the supernatural (too many creatures), and too many new and random characters/plots with no consequence or purpose (Feng, the Pirate Lords).

The series was better when it was primarily an adventure, with only a hint of the supernatural (CotBP).

Also, Jack's character was butchered, IMO. He became a silly coward for comedy relief.

This new trailer.....actually doesn't look too awful. It could go either way for me, depending on the story and how they write Jack.

another thing is missing here
we don't see alot of CGI effects in the trailer

personally i'm fine with that, but still it's weird for a 3D movie

It's going to have 3D elements..but I wouldn't want 3D shots for sake of 3D..it has to fit in the story...not make the story fit the 3D element.

I can see the mermaids being 3D, the sword through the door, and Blackbeard's ship belching hell fire as all elements.

Same way you ____ an ugly girl: in the mouth with the lights off.

Will cocktail sauce work?

Doesn't give the same glide.

Fish poop from the same hole that they lay eggs from.

Just sayin' :D

The "poop shoot" isn't off limits for standard humans either, some would call it the final frontier depending on how rigid your lady is.

The problem with the sequels for me was the overuse of the supernatural (too many creatures), and too many new and random characters/plots with no consequence or purpose (Feng, the Pirate Lords).

Which is why I was really glad to read that this is a stand alone sequel and that even if there is a 5 & 6 they won't be directly tied into this story according to Depp.

That sounds more annoying to me than a movie being totally 3D. I just hope it sticks with the layered 3D and not the pop off the screen theme park 3D.

Looks great so far. Johnny Depp makes these movies, anyway. I don't think anyone is going to really miss Orlando Bloom or Keira Knightley too much.

As long as Depp plays Captain Jack, this franchise will make $$$

I know me, and the family will go see it.

:rock

Nope. Disney wants to miss out on the tons of money from 2D screenings. Only 3D and it will only be in theaters for 1 day and only at Disneyland. Its already sold out.

:duh

Wait, hunh?? Explain that again.

So, it's only going to be shown in 3D?

And it's only going to be shown in 2D once, and that's at Disneyland and it's sold out??

Where's the source for this?? It sounds too insane to be true.
