It doesn't have much chance of taking off. Why buy a PC that runs on Linux and can't do much of anything else except for a limited number of Steam games?

Valve isn't stupid, they won't launch it unless it plays a lot of their library, which my guess is it will. I could easily see them working with major companies to help port games over that they feel will help launch their box.

I agree but I would trust anything Valve puts out before Sony.

Care to explain that one? Just curious. Not looking for drama or anything, but DV makes a good point. When it comes to hardware, Valve's a rookie. I hope they produce hardware a lot faster than they produce software.

Valve is the smartest company in gaming... I'm sure this thing will be amazing and I bet they'll take there time on this.

I love Sony though, the Vita is a great device(Come on, it's almost as powerful as a PS3!)
only things that need to be done, #1. build a bigger library #2. Marketing.

One thing they need to jump on, is make the Vita act like the Nvidia Shield for the PS4, that would be amazing, streaming PS4 games to a handheld console. :)

How is that?

I don't know much about Valve so i googled a list fo their titles and nearly everything is a modification or add-on of Half Life or Half Life 2 engines.

The only original one seems to be Left for Dead and possibly Portal. How are they the smartest when they've put hardly anything new out?

Every game they've released is amazing... and a game is finished when they're satisfied with it, never half assed.

Also Steam is great. :)

Half Life 2 Ep2 came out 10/10/2007......so, yeah, over five years is pretty darn slow. I wouldn't mind had Ep II not kinda left everyone hanging as if EP III was going to come out within a reasonable timeframe

I can't argue with that. They make good games, but cripes.

Re: The Valve console

It's not a console

And the Xi3 thing will do extremely bad--you're paying a premium for the compact size, the $1,000 cost has much less graphical power than other gaming PC's
