Be careful. All of these people telling you to just close your PP account are neglecting to tell you that Paypal will report you to a collecting agency and therefore destroy your credit. Credit is an important thing in this society so don't let it go to hell over $900. Move on and never use ebay or paypal again.

Exactly. You live you learn. There are many measures to protect yourself when selling things online. However, no use crying over spilled milk now. Pay it and move on is my suggestion. I have heard of paypal dipping into back accounts so be careful there too. The worst they can do is put you into collections but that will ruin your credit so choose your next move wisely.

I always forget about the collection agency part. I still haven't figured out how Paypal determines an account is stolen or not. They once took money from me because they said the guy paid with a suspicious account. The guy ended up resending me the money and I didn't have a problem. I even had them do it to me on a confirmed address but got the money back because it was confirmed. The sad part is if you don't take Paypal, people will become suspicious of you.

Very true, it's quite a sad thing. Paypal holds what could be called a monopoly. If you get burned the best thing to do is just lick your wounds and get out. Stop giving them any money and forget about them.

The worst part is that it's almost impossible to explain your story to an actual person that works for them and even if you do they usually don't care. Selling online is just to risky sometimes.

Which is why I am in the process of selling most of my stuff. It isn't worth the risk. I will still sell the occasional thing, but once I get rid of what I have, I won't be selling near as much.

Oh and just to save some people some grief. IF you are shipping something that is worth more than $200 you must get a signature upon delivery to be qualified under the seller protection policy.

Ebay and PP really have it good...they don't do much but have websites and are middle-men. if you sell on ebay and use PP, you basically work for them, except they don't give a sht about you and and there are no benefits. oh well, such is life.

I thought it was 250.

Somewhere around there. Either way, get a signature if you are in doubt and your item costs a lot. I am always nervous when I sell high dollar items. Usually I will put a OR Best Offer option and pick the person with the best feedback who is less likely to give me problems. :lol

And people, don't ask me to ship internationally because I am not about to lose money if the item gets damaged or lost. :lol:monkey4
