what color is the bottom side of Hulks sword? Mine is kinda green, is it suppose to be reflecting Hulks skin or did they forget to pant it?
OK, just saw the pic. The iris is certainly off on one eye. One is perfectly centered and the other one touches the top of his eye lid. It's definitely off and gives it a googly appearance. It wouldn't surprise me if all of them look like this. SSC's QC is questionable at best on some runs. That said, just because they are off on all of the statues doesn't mean that it's not a defect. I'd try and talk to a manager and get them to pay for the return shipping if you are not happy with it.
Please keep in mind that it doesn't help you case when you post that you think he's great and he's one of your best statues so far. When it's all said and done though, the eyes are definitely off IMO. It's not glaring, but it's certainly there.
If I look off to the side my eye my one eye that is looking away from my nose tends to be covered a bit more then the other... The iris get covered by the lid a little... especially is I have my head tilted down a bit.
Just saying.
I received one with severe eye misalignment too. SS sent me another but it arrived broken. Today I received a third head and it's finally perfect. Now ranks as one of my favorite pieces.
Are you saying you have goodly eyes also?
LOL!!!!!!
Walked into that one
But seriously try and imitate that hulk sneer. Your one side of the face tends to close your eye a tad and thus covers the lid a bit on that side.
What do you think? I still haven't seen a "correct" one. View attachment 128716
the issue is that the right eye is looking straight.
The iris on both eyes have to be the same. If one is in a different position than the other, it's a defect. Now, if collectors are OK with what they received, that's all well and good. However, the ONE photo I looked at closely (alpha's) clearly have the iris in different locations in each eye. Having both eyes positioned properly is the 1st challenge. After that, both irises need to be centered in each eye. If that doesn't happen, the eyes will look googly regardless of whether they are perfectly positioned or not.
This is a GREAT sculpt. Each collector is going to have to decide individually if the eyes bother them or not. However, if the irises aren't uniform on any of these pieces, it's a defect no matter what SSC says. If someone ordered this piece and isn't happy with it because of the googly eyes, the should get a FULL refund including SSC picking up the return shipping cost. The excuse by SSC saying all the heads have the same issue or this 'hero pose' qoute is ridiculous. Please understand that I put a HUGE premium on the eyes of any piece I order. IMO, if the eyes are off, the whole piece doesn't work for me personally. It's disturbing to hear that if SSC screws up all the eyes on the run of a piece, we will have to pay return shipping if we are not happy with googly eyes. If this is going to be a common SSC practice, it won't sit well with me.
OK um I think a lot of you are blowing the eye position out of proportion, if you look at it without zooming in 400x it looks natural.
