Re: Plattman's Customs!

Yeah Maglor, it's darren's own paint. He can do everything :lol check out his blog darrencarnall.com

Looks amazing doesn't it. As Gipetto says, he is extremely mad busy, a years worth of work I think. I'd of had the head painted by him if not for the long wait, as it would be a pleasure to own a paint up by him in my collection.

Gipetto - Agreed! I'm down for the Obi wan and Anakin heads from him myself but that'll be in the new year. Can't wait to see your paint ups of them when you come to do them.

In other news! Just came across a great Neo sculpt

Pretty cool eh! It's by a company called "Headplay" they also do a great Danny Trejo sculpt. You can see the heads over on OSW. I've gotta say OSW is definitely the better site for catching new products from the smaller companies etc.

Re: Plattman's Customs!

Wow, that is a great sculpt Plattman! I'm eager to see what Daniel cooks up for the Neo project.

Re: Plattman's Customs!

Yeap me too, I already have 2 of his current Neo, can't wait to see what he comes up with. Also I know another sculptor who is doing a Neo. We won't be short of options! Plus the Neo project by Sunohc and Kato etc we all know about. Will be a good year for Matrix!

Re: Plattman's Customs!

Yep! You will have an amazing representation with the Morpheus and a soon to be amazing Neo! Bet you're well pleased mate.

Most definitely! :panic:

The first is one of my all time favorite movies, and I obsessed over the sequels in High School and even took off school to dress up, camp out and see them opening night (Revolutions was actually released at the same time all over the world so it was 6 AM for me) :lol

My collection has never felt complete without the Matrix films being represented...

Re: Plattman's Customs!

I remember trying to watch Revolutions at the cinemas and when I went to buy the ticket they asked me my age, as I was about 14 at the time. I completely froze! The person behind the counter laughed at me. Ended up watching Calender girls! :lol Google that and the story is funnier!

After you'd finished watching Revolutions did you still think camping was a good idea? :lol

I can watch the 1st film from beginning to end, can't say the same for the other 2, but I prefer the fight scenes in the reloaded and revolutions. Although I think as the years go by the 2 sequels get better?

I was a year or two out of college :monkey2, my roommate and I lived in a loft and I remember waiting for Revolutions to come out to DVD, only to watch it like 30 times that week once we purchased it.

Re: Plattman's Customs!

Man I really like that Neo sculpt! Although the company "Headplay" always put out heads with no necks which I don't like given the choice.

30 times! :lol it still boggles in my mind

I do that with movies for some reason, don't even ask about Predator :lol :thud: I think we (old roommate and I) just enjoy them differently the first 10 times and look for different events in the movie that we might of missed.

My wife on the other hand thinks it's just insane, especially if it's playing on tv and I'll stop to watch it. Heck, she's probably watched Predator 500 times since we've been together :rotfl

I never regretted camping out :lol I'm not sure if it was the sleep deprivation, but I remember being emotionally overwhelmed by Neo's blindness, Trinity's death, the final EPIC fight scene (reminiscent of my favorite fight scene of all 3, the Neo/Agent Smith subway brawl) and Neo's ultimate sacrifice.

To me the first one still takes the cake for fight scenes with the dojo and subway scenes. The burly brawl from Reloaded came close until they switched to CGI halfway through and ruined it, and the final Revolutions fight comes even closer, but there's something about the gritty simplicity of the first's fight scenes that make them classic.

I have grown to love the sequels more over time though, if not for the movies as a whole (mud orgy wtf?), at least for the story they tell.

Hell yes, my DVDs got serious playtime as well :rock

Re: Plattman's Customs!

Hiya mate, thanks! I've been checking your website a lot lately as i'm putting a Legolas together using pretty much the same parts! Brilliant work you do mate, briliant!

Re: Plattman's Customs!

I don't know about Thrust, but I would love to see your lobby shoot out bash and a link to the parts. :)

haha :D yes sure buddy i'm interested :) I was also planing on doing those two customs. The lobby scene, and i've found also your coat on ebay and it looks really great. And another one with the coat from Kato.

So sure I'm interested to see your accessories :)

Cool bud, i'm glad you found the coat. It really is a great piece imo! I'm also in for the coat from Kato, it looks brilliant.

I'd be interested in hearing the recipe as well... I had the bootleg Hot Toys figure for years, before selling it last year. Would love to upgrade using this sculpt and newer items :rock

The pictures I will take won't be as good as the pictures on the product pages etc! So I may as well just give you the recipe?

The coat, one of the nicest things i've seen in this scale, is made by Triad toys, Look for Knight Runner 2.0 on e-bay. Here's a pic!

As for the pants, I actually used the Hot Toys Sarah Connor cargos! They're a realy slim fit like what he has on in the movie.

The shirt was from the HT Blade 2 figure. It's skin tight and looks accurate.

That's all i've got! The boots were the biggest pain, I just never found anything, I think they would have to be custom made. Same goes for the shoulder holsters, really!

I made the leg harness myself from scratch, i'll try to get pictures of that!

As for accessories, I was just going to load him up with weapons, Double M9 pistols, double MP5k's, an M16, maybe double scorpion pistols too!

I'll have to try and get the lobby shoot out finished ready for when the Headplay head comes out.

I hope this helps felluz! Looking forward to seeing your bashes come together and if you find boots, let me know! :lol
