I like the sparkels that my desktop theme has now.
New PS3 logo at the start and the whats new is pretty good.
No new Avatars yet

The Dynamic Little BigPlanet Theme is available on the PSN right now!!!..... for the dissapointing price of $2.99.

I did end up buying it, and it is nice, and I have high hopes from other companies to do awesome things like the LBP one.

Yeah, I downloaded 3.0 this morning before I left for work.

Besides the cosmetic changes that DinoLast mentioned (sparkles/star bursts in the original theme and the new PS3 logo), there are Playstation Store icons in both the Movie and Game sections of the XMB; if you X on the Playstation Store tab in the movie sections, only movie selections will appear in a sub menu. Seems slightly redundant, but actually saves time on searching through the PS store. The font looks different as well, as does the display for any friends you have.

I may be wrong, but the opening music when you power up seemed slightly different as well...I'll have to double check later.

one of the cool things for us in the UK it adds the BBC's iPlayer onto the X-Bar so you can stream programs through the PS3

I've heard severall complaints that the Slims are louder than the fatties after about 30mins. Anybody have any probs with the noise? Also almost everyone who owns one says the Slims run (or at least feel) warmer that the fat models. Negativity aside, hopefully I can pick one up tomorrow if all goes well, just need to decide which model to get.

I certainly haven't had any problems with noise and/or heat, and I had that sucker running for a good 8 hours straight over the weekend.

You're nitpicking, and listening to everything you hear. Really who cares if it does run warmer which i doubt.(mine don't and it's quiet as hell) It's not a 360, and gonna bust on ya in 2 mos. Honestly your worried over nothing, like i said earlier if it's that trouble to decide flip a coin.

It was announced for PS3 the same time as 360, there just isn't a date yet.

I think it might be a little louder. I never really noticed noise from my fat, but I do occasionally hear the fan on my slim. If it is louder, I don't think it's by much since I don't notice it unless I'm listening for it.

I may be nitpicking but it's not everyday I can spend $300 plus on a luxury item and when I shell out this kinda cash, I just like to do a little research and get opinions. But you're probaby right, I'm probably worried over nothing

I took your advice and filpped a coin, looks like I'll go with the Slim. I have one final question, how much do extened warranties usually cost (I imagine it's around the same price a most retailers) and is it worth it?

Probably like 40$

I didn't even bother with mine and i don't think you should either. It will more than likely last fine. Sony has a 1 year warranty i believe and if anything happens it's covered. (register it online i think) If i was to get a 360 that would be a different story.

But it's up to you. I got mine last week and it's running like a champ. (had a 40gb for a while and it lasted great as well)

Ok then, my bad...I couldn't find it online anywhere, cause I was thinking it's actually being called the Playstation 3 Slim, but it's just marketed as the new 120 gb ....So yeah, show's how you how new I am to this PS3 thing heheh.
