I might hop around to the stores around here, Walmart, Future Shop Friday morning and just see what's up.
Apparently they are supposed to have maybe 20 minimum per store of stock, not preordered.
Just walk in and buy one. We'll see what happens.

I want to hold off for a while, but my damn temptation might just make me get one for the hell of it. Even tho, I'll enjoy most of the launch of game, whether Need for Speed, or a basketball game, or knack or whatever, there is nothing that is must have right now.

Part of me enjoys a thrill of the hunt like that, but alas I have mine pre ordered.

I highly doubt that will work, most likely there will be more than enough people waiting in line for hours before the launch if you go somewhere and they don't have anymore then everywhere else is probably sold out too. The only thing you can really do is try to get there early enough to be one of the first 20 people.

Yeah, I agree. Plus, there's no certainty this extra 20 even exists. Nobody I've seen is even accepting pre-orders any more, so it's hard to imagine that stores will have extras sitting on the shelves. I could be wrong though. It's always hard to tell how many of these consoles exist until after the launch.

They want to get people there, plus if you're there to buy a console you're more likely to buy extra stuff with it which is good for the stores. I would call ahead if you don't know though. Most likely Gamestop, Wal-Mart, and Best Buy will have something going on.

It's possible, sure. Anything's possible as far as availability goes. It's been a long time since you could expect to walk into a store on launch day and get the hardware though. Most stores WANT extras, but have a hard time getting them.

I don't think it's extras, I'm sure they figured out whether they would have some available in-store for launch when they first started preorders so it would have been set for a long time. The ones that are available are specifically set aside for that purpose.

Sony have said there holding back a certain amount of units because they want people to be able to walk in to a store & buy one so you might get lucky but after there gone they expect a Ps4 drought for I think they said 2 to 3 months

Depending from where you are picking it up, you might have a long waiting time in line I took the day off from work so if could get there (eb games) early and hopefully avoid the long lineups.

I guess we'll see soon enough. Being a Friday, im expecting people to be going throughout the day, so hopefully, itll be spread outside enough to keep the lines short.
