I'd like it if they at least made the triggers concave. They never felt right to me.

Well if I had one complaint about the controller, it would be that the analogs sometimes will get stuck slightly askew and effect what you're doing.

The overall design still is the best controller in gaming IMO.

I guess whichever controller you end up using the most feels like the best. Nothing beats the 360 controller for me.

This all seems so premature.

What happened to the 10 minimum years life span Sony always mentioned.

It's no secret that smartphones/tablets cut into the big profits for Sony.

I'm guessing with the current Apple stock drop and Apple being scrutinized that Sony probably figured it was the best time to strike to regain their once great technological reputation and profits.

Cell Processor and credit card network hack didn't help Sony with the PS3.

10 years was never a realistic goal, it was based on being as successful as the PS2. If they didn't release a new console this year they would be in major trouble, people are getting tired of the current consoles--especially in Japan. They have to get one out to combat the Wii U, mostly because it's a great opportunity to take advantage of the problems Nintendo is having. There's also the mobile market where I think probably next year with something like a new Tegra 5 processor we could be at the point where a tablet could have the same graphical quality as PS3/Xbox 360 and they'll need to have more to distinguish themselves from mobile.
Also--the game market for the consoles is dead--meaning there's no games other than a couple heavily delayed PS3 games that aren't set to come out this year.

Yeah, there was a time when I couldn't imagine a controller i liked better than the dual shock, but this gen, most of my gaming was on the 360 and it's my fav now.

I believe the 10 year lifespan still holds. We'll continue seeing PS3 based content well into 2014, and, most likely, 2015, and it will still be supported up until 2017, at least.

I thought I was ready for new consoles. With my current back log of games, I'm not. Hell I might not even be that much into gaming anymore. I just got a Wii U and have played it for about an hour in total. Maybe two. Once the kids go to bed I just can't bring myself to really do anything besides stare at the TV for a couple hours. Everything else just seems like too much damn work.

I've been hearing about that! I'll have to check when I get on to watch the show!

I can't wait to see what Killzone 4 looks like as a next gen title, Guerrilla games never disappoint graphically! they love showing off new hardware.
