PLease help, tough decision!

Hey fellow collectors,

So I'm fairly new to the collecting scene but I've put together a rather nice hot toys collection so far. I just pre-ordered the HT alien 3 and lost predator. My initial intent was to just get all of the preds but then I got a robocop and ed209, the batman stuff, and some aliens. Last night I made the mistake of finding the Sideshow 1:4 alien 3 maquette. Say what you will about the film but I enjoyed it and that is my favorite incarnation of the alien. Whit that said, I just canceled my ht alien 3 and am thinking of selling off all of my preds and aliens to get that and maybe eventually pic up the cinemaquette Alien and Predator. What are your thoughts? I'm very torn and any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sell me your robocop Nah sell just a couple on ebay or here and get enough to fund the statue, I mean it sounds like just 2 of the HT figures you got will cover the cost.

If it was me i'd rather have 1 or 2 really excellent pieces per character instead of a handful of alright stuff. The HT stuff is cool don't get me wrong but the maquette and the cinemaquette are in a league of their own.

i have a combination of both figure and statues. can't pick one over the other. but every now and then i go through my collection and see what doesn't interest me as much anymore. not sure if this is helpful - but i just can't pick statue over action figure or vice versa.

I am a 1:6 kinda a guy, but I have to agree. The Cine kicks butt in this case.

I really like my figs, but I LOVE my statues.

I say sell the figs and get what you really want.

I love hot toys,but really nice to have a big Grail to be the center piece! So I am a mixture of both

I appreciate all the valid input! The more I'm thinking about it the more I'm leaning toward the alien 3 maquette and the alien/predator cinemaquettes. I LOVE my hot toys preds but I still feel like i have to explain to girls when they come over why I have toys (awesome ones at that) but with the statues there is no explanation needed. I've been looking at pics and they look quite impressive. I just like the idea of being able to have all the predators. I'm def keeping robo and Ed but I think I'm going to let the others go. All are open but displayed in a case and i have all boxes and accessories mint. Hopefully I wont loose too much $ on them.

Great decision bro! The statues are simply amazing to behold and you're right, there is no need to explain anything to anyone. Once you look at them in person, you just get it.

I find the best decisions are made ruthlessly. No mercy. Get rid of anything you even have a shed of doubt on. Then you are left with a flawless collection you can be proud of.
