If they did a plain black base then everyone would be complaining that the bases were too plain.

You can't make everyone happy.

If it's such a huge deal that her base is shorter then don't buy her.

IMO it's fine the way it is, but hey, that's just me.

I used the example of a plain black base for a line that uses plain black bases. It is consistency. People could complain that in general it is too simplistic, but they couldn't specifically target that statue alone because it is a shared feature of the line, thus consistent.

What's up with the "don't like it, don't buy it" and "you can't make everyone happy" counterarguments? I don't even understand why threads exist at this point. Might as well just have every thread solely be a non commentable poll saying "Are you buying this piece" and nothing more since apparently one can't actually discuss figures.

Threads exist so that you can explain why you don't like things.

I guess threads exist for snark stabs at random people :monkey1

I've expressed my love for the sculpt before and I am probably one of the first on the waitlist for the EX. I'm not saying this figure is awful or anything like that and I fail to see why people always try to dodge or avoid actually discussing potential flaws or points of question.

And it's an important aspect of the statue because it puts into question the entire DC line now. What if Wonder Woman's base is half an inch tall? Does this mean only Joker and Batman will have tall bases in the Batman line? Questions like this are not only worth asking, but if Sideshow suspects that people prefer these tall bases then they might make Poison Ivy the exception rather than start of the next trend.

Someone earlier mentioned the idea of using a clear base for her base to stand on and then covering that with fake plants. I think that's an excellent idea and I hope people try it out when she comes out as I would like to see how that looks.

I discussed the flaw. Said it wasn't a flaw. Not sure how much more you want.

Also, now that Ivy has come with a short stand, more short stands will be necessary to maintain consistency. WW doesn't belong on a short one, but lower tier characters would be understandable.

If you look at the concept and assume, yes I know about assuming, that they will stay true to the concept then I don't think that argument holds Merit.

Not every statue needs to have the same base/same height/same width.

As they say, variety is the spice of life. IMO having each base fit the chatacters, height notwithstanding, is more important.

Love Them all and the bases is perfekt for Them all, and the hair on her don't change it, she is perfect, the most beauty off all the ladies of sideshow:)

Well, the benefit of having a "discussion" is the discussion that happens. I noticed something and brought it up, and we are discussing it. We are allowed to disagree, and just because we do there is no need to get sarcastic or rude about it. Threads exist for this reason JUST as much as they exist for some of the unadulterated fanboy gushing that happens even when a sculpt is so horrible that my 5 year old could do better.

Aw, I knew you didn't want me to put those claws where I think you meant. :1-1:

The internet conspires against sarcasm the world over. Something must be done.

I, too, think this statue is a must have. Until its release, I had only a handful sideshow statues, but as soon as I saw this one I jumped. Since then, I've been on a roll with statue buying. Definitely excited for its release.
