I have a pokestop right near my house that's almost a hot spot. It's a couple of steps but I'm lazy to go back and forth, so I usually do it when walking my dog. My town is pretty decent about pokestops. There's a gym near a school, two pokestops a street down, three on the field from it, and two another street so many pokeballs.

I'm not even playing this game, but last night on my way home, I saw a dad and his son picking up Pokemon on the sidewalk at 11:30 PM . Looks like they went out just to search for Pokemon. It was kind of funny, since the kid looked really young, and most likely, it was way past his bedtime.

Pokestops are something I don't have a problem with! This is from my office.

That's nice. It's easy to level up, but make sure you pay attention when you are walking /crossing the road!

It has that effect I had a blast with my kids when we went out on Sunday after I downloaded the game onto their device. Luckily my wife doesn't play the game, so she can keep an eye on us.

I've totally seen people set up lures near the Pokestop outside my house at 1 A.M. it's amusing, but crazy too. Admittedly my friends and I have stayed out late to catch Pokemon but we were usually discussing stuff, like some games, animes and other times we'd meet up or hang out, like for a convention we're heading to soon.

But you should play! The child in you wants to be a Pokemon Master

I noticed that the new map system in the most recent update works pretty well. It seems to only list pokemon that are reasonably close, and actually exist! Plus the one listed closest to you actually seems to be the one closest to you. I used it to find a Bulbasaur and Wartortle, among others.

I think the map system does work better now. The only thing I've had trouble with is when it shows a Pokemon I've never seen close to me I haven't found any of them.

A friend of mine showed me the other day his poke deck, after he uses the hack program that plays for him. Now he's like level 35 with complete Pokemon list and at least 2 dozen of snorlax and tons of rare others. Really makes me not enjoy playing after seeing that list.

I'm level 21 with 92 Pokemon and still don't have Snorlax.

A friend of mine showed me the other day his poke deck, after he uses the hack program that plays for him. Now he's like level 35 with complete Pokemon list and at least 2 dozen of snorlax and tons of rare others. Really makes me not enjoy playing after seeing that list.

Why? There's no sense of achievement or surprise for a cheater.

He's goal is to dominate the gyms, and get poke coins. You get like 10 poke coins each day you defend a gym. Then you can get the poke coins to buy lucky eggs to double xp and get stronger. Sort of like how the rich get richer and the poor gets poorer in this world.

Yeah, the fun goes out the window pretty quickly if you don't have to work for it. And I think this game has found a decent balance.

Makes me feel like I'm wasting my time now catching caterpie, ratatas to raise xp when he's got dozens of snorlax. There's no way I can catch up on that. Sort of like how natural body builders could never beat anyone using roads, no matter how hardworking he may be.
