Re: Mr. Charlie's All New Ventures into Pop Culture Reproductions
Thanks, Platty. Updated those B. Wayne pics. After I looked at them a couple of times I noticed there was a really obvious paint rub on the cheek. Fixed it up.
New commission project. Casted up the T1 head and sculpting on long hair for a Conan.
Re: Mr. Charlie's All New Ventures into Pop Culture Reproductions
Thanks, Ed. It's no Arnie Kim, but I think it does the trick. This one is for a client, but I want to do my own with the black and white camo. And can I just reiterate how tough sculpting is? Hats off to all you sculptors out there.
Re: Mr. Charlie's All New Ventures into Pop Culture Reproductions
And some fun pics taken by my client who I did the John Marsten for:
This was the original head that came with the fig. he bought but he ended up buying another cast, which he had me paint. This made for a nice comparison:
Re: Mr. Charlie's All New Ventures into Pop Culture Reproductions
Work so far on Jason Pt. 2. Recasted the SS head in resin, filled in the cavity on top and then painted. Gave him some creepy ginger hair to finish. Working on the arms and then I'll have more to show.
Re: Mr. Charlie's Pop Culture Reproductions - Beto Jason III
Jason Pt. III using Beto's head and mask.
Arms, once again, are casts from the SS Pt. III. They're attached via magnets. Machete is full custom from scratch. Made out of steel. I embedded a magnet in the hand so it would hold nice and also put a magnet in the machete handle.
Took a while to figure out how to get all those subtle lines in the mask.
