Could not resist any longer and got the war paint version today. Planned on getting the SS version for a while now, but never found deal on one so this guy is perfect for me.
Albion was the first. The sharp ones were sharpened by Jody Samson, the guy who did the swords for the movie. The early editions were perfect, but later, they started using darker patinas, the runes were cut differently, and even the size and shape of the bronze components changed slightly. I think after Marto got the license, their swords got better but I'd still go Albion/Filmswords if you have the $$$.
Back to statue, Jerry said I shouldn't have to repaint it, lol. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
Yes, I think I was enough of a PITA over at the statue forum to convince everyone that the cammo pattern was all wrong.
I'm sure he will make it right. Lord knows I posted enough reference material in that thread!
We all thank you, sir. I was going to buy the war paint version regardless, but it's nice that it will now be what it should be.
Yes, that helped me decide to get it as well. I wish other companies would listen to knowledgeable fans, it helps everyone. Thanks!
I did it all for the glory!..lol
Tattoo version ordered, the best choice of it.

I might have gone for both if the bases were different. They did a great job on the beach version, but a different base from the warpaint scene would have helped me consider both. With the original inaccuracies of the warpaint version, it was an easy choice to go with the beach version. That is, until PCS stated that will make the paint accurate to the movie. At that point, it pushed the warpaint version slightly ahead for me but I love both of them.
Looking at the movie images of Conan on the beach, does the statue sword look a little to gold?
