No I am not kidding. It has nothing to do with PCS being unknown. Sideshow offered those features half a decade ago on their statue and that's why the Sideshow is the best!! The are rest still trying to catch up! This is my opinion but I find the lack of EX options lazy half arsed

I don't think you can say lazy..the SS piece has tons of options (not tons but uk what I mean) and Id take this piece in a heartbeat over that one ten times out of ten…they said they spent 10+ months working on this: (from statue forum)

You will see once we release studio pics.

Our sculpt is by far the most accurate out of anything thats ever been released (not including the new HT as its not out yet) Because of my background and connections to the special fx industry, we had access to reference and actual pieces of the suit, that no one else has before.

Once we had actual castings in hand, we here at the studio were actually very surprised to see how off-model all the previous Robocop sculpts have been.

Having said that, ours isnt perfect yet. We ran out of time to perfect a few details in the suit and I still need to rework the face a bit.

Robocop is one of those things where the brain creates false nostalgic memories so people remember an idealized version of the character, not the actual one from the movie. For example, if you freeze frames of the HD Bluray you will see misaligned panels, tears and holes in the foam undersuit, spandex and even duct tape in places.

Robocop was great for its time but it is a crude suit with lots of flaws that people idealize into something its not.

i dont say the above lightly. I say it after 10 months of exhaustive research and development including viewing and measuring the actual suit from the original film."

not sure what you trying to get at. the sideshow robocop pf isn't as bad as some claims..for its time (i have it), but the pcs version completely blows it away in term of accuracy and sculpt, there is no comparison. Also the pcs ex is much better than the ss ex spike hand, it gave a whole new pose which i prefer over the regular.

This is the definitive robocop statue.

yeah I already know all that..blah blah.etc etc...I am just saying an interchangable hand with spike and working thigh holster would have made this statue even better...that's the lazy part or maybe not skilled enough to do it..:dunno

anyway its a good statue..it just would have been even better with those extras..that all I am saying..its not a big deal which is better I don't care either way I don't work for either company. I just giving my opinion as a collector and Robocop fan. I am still happy with my purchase so far

not skilled enough to do it?? cmon man lol a holster or a hand spike isn't difficult to do, its everything else, which they nailed..95% of the time when you see robocop in the movie, thats how he looks. The hand spike is a gimmick…not something that defines the character.

:lol gimmick? go see the movie again..it's actually an epic part of the movie when he uses it!! :lol

I ordered the piece and am happy and satisfied but if I could ask for anything it would be interchangeable head sculpts with the second head sculpt being Robocop/Peter Weller without the helmet. This would of really showcased the sculptors talent. I realize it would of been too difficult and costly to do this but in my opinion I think an extra head sculpt is more important than an extra set of arms. Maybe Jerry should make a few and randomly select the winners so some people get Artist proofs and some get an extra head sculpt.

Go to all the effort of sculpting an extra portrait then give it to a select few?...

Are you mad? :cuckoo: :lol

:cuckoo: why would u want to display it without helmet of that ugly head :cuckoo: are u mad?:lol

The spike hand was a terrible exclusive, because it is on the same hand that holds the gun so it's never used, who in their right mind will display robocop with a spike and not his gun. Also the open leg doesn't work either, he's in action gun holding pose, makes no sense to have his leg open. I think that's the extras you are referring to?

Btw the limited articulation on the SS robocop while cool is a problem long term, on mine it's already very loose, from my understanding it's a common issue. I like statue to be statues, otherwise I will just get a enterbay toy

that sums it up perfectly…

Very well said. I had the ex, and the hand never made it out of the box. Used the opening leg to impress a friend or two when first got him, and that was it.
As soon as this Robo was announced, sold the SS, as I never really liked his proportions, and also, as few have mentioned, the joints became loose and the gun arm kept sagging...
Ordered the ex with this one. Great looking piece. Also, love both arm display options - To me, each of the two poses is iconic.
Just occurred to me - is there a reason why whoever got the ex, will not be able to mix between the two sets and display him with, say bent gun arm + left arm pointing down? Can't see why not.

no reason at all..can mix and match as you see fit

:cuckoo: whatever :cuckoo:

Again as I said before...
With those extras included this would have been sold out already. If the SS piece is so bad like you claim then PCS should have shown the world how to perfect it then. A Robocop statue or figure should try and capture more of movie and have these options. IMO very lazy and slack to pretend they don't exist.

I won't be selling my SS Robo just yet :lol

whatever :cuckoo: IMO an Ex should be better then the Reg version. And on the PCS Robo it's not better. The Reg pose is the best.

The SS Robo EX was better than the Reg SS.
