Apparently PopToys is reissuing a new wave of preorders for Son of a General, renamed Son of a General Xinzhang, same character same armor same accessories, but with rooted hair, and apparently a little cheaper. It's up for preorder for Q1 2023 at the same retailer where I've preordered the original deluxe figure ages ago (and it should arrive in a few days in stock).

I wish that they would reissue the devoted samurai. Somehow missed it originally and skipped the other figures because of it.

If I'm not wrong the only difference on the reissue its the copper armor

Can you link some shots? The final product been a deciding factor on whether to keep the original fig.

The neck joint had poor glue on it so I had to reglue that. The neck is a bit long so I used tweezers to pull his collar up but the white shirt is hard to get because the hair comes so low. Besides that, I kinda love it.

Forgot to add it has that unseemly hair joint. I still prefer it. If you want to display the helmet the original head is still better

Whew...man I'm glad you like it but I'm thinking it's a pass for me. Appreciate you sharing photos though.

My only gripe is that God awful seam. Otherwise it's a gorgeous sculpt.

I finally received my Son of a General DX figure but it's apparently missing an accessory (an important one too) : the headscarf. I really wanted to have him rock this look in my display so I'm pretty bummed. I searched the entire box many times, but it doesn't seem to be there.

Has anyone else had that issue, or is the headscarf really well hidden inside the helmet? I saw there is a padding inside the helmet but it doesn't seem to pull out and I didn't want to damage it, and I doubt they'd have hidden the scarf in there (the scarf is golden and the padding I saw is black)... I've contacted my retailer asking how to get the missing accessory but I'm not sure I'll get it..

EDIT : I've been to PopToys website and it has 2 e-mail addresses to contact them, both got bounced back saying the addresses no longer exist. Great...

Is the paint on the Archtoys sculpt as chalky as it seems in photos? I can patch the seam, but I don't wanna go through repainting the whole sculpt

The head sculpt actually looks very good but that hair seam is awful. I would putty that up and paint it to match the rest of the hair.

Yeah kinda. I think it’s hard to get good photos of it. It looks better in hand but what you said is true. It looks better in hand
