I like the new Sideshow piece anyway. It would not be feasible for me to paint up a kit as I have no experience or time for such an endeavor. The SS piece seems to have a bit more detail in the tease we have seen. Such as cables down under the foot rests. I wish I could avoid ordering this, especially at the $400 Queen price point. But I don't see myself being able to resist the Power Loader. Should make for an awesome display set up together. Hopefully, this will come in at less than the Queen, as I'm already anticipating using my stored up rewards points for this diorama. Maybe...

:D

Interesting. Yes, hopefully Sideshow will give us a better / more detailed version than it's predecessor kit.

It's funny how they seem to have used somebody else's work to make 'their' figure again.

They did the same thing with their 1/4 scale Terminator Endoskeleton. It is EXACTLY the same size and detail as the old 1/4 scale model kit.

The model kit was a pain in the ass to build though. The hardest I ever did. And the vinyl parts were too weak to hold the weight of the metal parts, so I had to get a second one and reinforce every single piece of it.

im guessing this will be around 250...but hoping it will be 199

NONE of the dios have been poseable.

You shouldn't expect this one to be...and why would you?

yes, i'm aware that dios don't have any poseability. that's why i cited the robocop PF as an example.

but why can't i expect this one to have it? it's called a "consumer want". so why WOULDN'T i want poseability in a dio?

of course, i'm not expecting the full range of articulation of the hot toys version. but some degree of movement in the arms, or least rotating grips/pincers would've been nice. i don't think that's impossible. :D

You can't expect it because it's not been done in any of the other dios, that's why.

And you can't cite a PF as an example. They're two completely different types of items.

Hell, I'd like all my Alien dios to have mouths that open and tongues that extend....but ya see where that got me.

dude, you're obviously not getting me.

i KNOW full well that the dios have never come with poseability.

but why should that stop me from WANTING it? it doesn't matter if the reality doesn't match up to the fantasy. i'm cool with that.

and why can't i cite pfs? even among pfs, it varies. indy pf didn't have an inch of poseability, but robocop had movable arms and a swivel-out holster compartment. why? cos he's a mechanical design, like the powerloader. so to me, it's an entirely relevant comparison.

so, what's to stop ss from making dios with poseability? absolutely nothing. let's not get into issues like cost. i'm just sayin if they wanted to, they COULD make a dio like the powerloader (which is a machine comprised entirely of MOVING PARTS) to have a couple of actual moving parts. and i know a ripley statue resides inside, so u can't make the parts she's attched to move. but like i said earlier, they could easily make the pincers rotatable, or closeable.

and my point in the beginning was, i would get it if does have some element of this. the powerloader is too dynamic a design for me to be happy with just one permanent, totally unchangeable pose. to me, it wouldn't be doing justice to the design.

Does anyone know if the alien queen and powerloader join together that would be awsome!!!!

Not sure what to think about this thing.
I do not want to buy it simply because it "goes with the queen".
1st there were no powerloaders except for the kits, not there's Hot Toys Aoshima, the little chubby looking set, and this. Too much all at once IMO.

Either way, it better be inexpensive to convince me that I "need" it because there are much better things available nowadays.

I didn't like the Hot Toys one anyway but this one looks bad ass:rock

Bummer- Ripley still looks not like Ripley - Oh well.

Sigourney's "Ripley" likeness is not a licensable character.
So we won't be seeing one...thats was the reason behind HT figures not looking like her.

Moving parts = added engineering = production issues = difficulty to mass produce = added cost to the buying public.
