100% agree with predalien08. Really, the only thing that the Strauss' can be blamed for is a film that is poorly written, too dark, and actors giving truly horrible performances. Much of the blame belongs to 20th century Fox. Not only were they pushing for more predator features on the predalien, which did not belong. But in the original script the predalien died in the first few pages. It was completely the studios decision to have the predalien run around making more aliens in that small town.

The story they wanted had a much more alien like predalien die either in the crash or just after then a bunch of aliens running amuck in the city. IMO, their idea wasn't that bad. Unfortunately their utter lack of any cinematic talent what so ever would have had it turn out as a horrible effort regardless.

Considering that James Cameron's aliens (lacking the dome) were the inspiration for the ones in AVP-R and the extending mandibles on the predator were the result of a suggestion that he gave to Stan Winston, I would have loved to have seen his interpretation of what the creature should have looked like.

Both are at fault, and both piss me off. Actually, if you listen to the commentary, you can totally tell how their relationship went.

And yes, the idea was bad. It was bad because it disrups the cannon already presented in the first 4 Alien films. Aliens never came to earth. And if they ever did we're doomed. But now we know they already did...twice...and nothing too bad happened. So now we wonder why Ripley made such a fuss....

Great group of pics. I think the sculpted one sucks.

The hybrid from the games were interesting because of their behavior. The design was great mainly because it preceded the movies, when the idea of a PredAlien was still cool.

The sculpted is the only one that looks a 100% alien. Which it should be. Its not a Predator at all. It may be a bit stronger, and faster, mabye more agile, and have mandibles, but it wont do anything else. Its not going to skin anyone, or take their skulls, or anything like that.

The first game's Predalien is great, the second...not so much. WAY too Predatorish.

they all look about the same to me. basically a bigger alien with a predator mouth.
the only major differences are the presence or omission of the dreads, head shape and color scheme.
but, i think putting aliens and predators in the same movie was a dumb idea to begin with. sure made for some cool games, though.

Yeah, they should have left the licences separate.
Now we have 4 species to contend with. (Human, Alien, Predator, and Space Jokey)

We should leave the Jockey out unless Riddles comes back.

I like the AvP concept...but no one understands it. Or atleast no one understands it in Hollywood.
