Why order when you hate the statue? Makes no sense. Well if they ever want to cancel I won't mine buying another one

Everyone has the right to express their opinion, either for or against the design.
As it stands I think everyone is aware of the 'flaws' and the dissing is getting a bit tedious :dunno

Nah - it's great (when done to make people smile) - you're English mate (so I know it's part of your genetics by birth) - just go with it. Humour makes the world go round (I know - I took a seminar).

Why are guys trashing the statue. Can't afford or cant get it that's why? Haha Don't be haters bro

It deserves all the criticism it is getting. Some ordered hoping SS fixes at least some of the glaring issues before it ships.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

To recap what's all the issues?
  • Dreds
  • Short spear
  • Teeth base
Am I missing anything?

• Right-angled dreds on the masked portrait
• Mask wrong on the masked portrait
• Spear too short/thin
• Teeth on base look goofy (pun intended)
• Skulls on base look naff
• General base design is poor and has nothing to do with the movie
• No quills on unmasked portrait
• Closed-mandible face looks too feminine
• Overall pose looks too feminine
• No stand to display the alternate portrait
• Extras on EX poorly thought out & sadly lacking
• Overpriced
• QC will likely suck resulting in factory damage & poor paintwork (* educated speculation - we'll have to wait and see on this one *)
• I hate disco, rap & country music (* documented fact *)

Think that's about it ?!? :fireworks

Most of us trashing it have ordered it! It's a cool statue and worth getting if your a fan of Predator for sure.

It's just disappointing that they have missed some very obvious design elements. If they want my $1500 (with shipping and taxes) then I have a right to give them tips on how to make it even better. It's not unheard of for sideshow to change a couple of things.

Saying that I doubt they will change a thing on this. The base doesn't really bother me, it's ok and I'm not as fussed as some, the pose is actually very nice and the paint (if we get it like that) is great. Plus it's a BIG piece so it should look awesome.

If i was only allowed to choose one thing then it would be the dreads for sure. That's pretty much a universal problem unless you are Stevie Wonder. After that then I'd choose the mandibles open but that's got ZERO chance.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I agree. The dreads should be fixed. Secondly the spear size should be fixed in case it is in fact short. I have no problems with the base. Isn't that suppose to be the ship maybe?

I've learned to live with the spear. Actually as each day goes by I get less and less fussy because I want to enjoy it when it comes. The dreads though need tweaked.

I think the base they might have been going for a kind of "Giger" influence with the skulls, teeth and sort of organic look. I think they maybe got their franchises mixed up! It does somewhat loosely look like it could be part of the ship. Maybe the Predator toilet?.....:lol

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

i too don't mind the base…could it be better sure..but np for me…the spear i would like to see bigger bcz i feel like if it was bigger it would add tha much more to the piece..

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

We were having a little light hearted fun about the Busey teeth... Coping mechanism and all that. I won't go into all of the faults with this again here but this is a very expensive statue of a very loved character so you will always see emotional responses on a forum. The big problem with this thread is that half the posts are moaning about the statue and the other half are moaning about the moaning. What you could be doing instead is voicing all of the positive aspects about this piece and levelling out the opinion a bit. This one has major flaws, there is no getting around that but I don't think anybody here hates it in the least. If we didn't think it was a nice statue we wouldn't have paid so much for it... The potential this one has is pretty massive, a few little changes would see it realise that awesome potential and that is something we would all like to see so complaining about people asking for that seems a little weird. This is about the only place we can voice such concerns, you may as well tell a brick wall than email Sideshows suggestion option so you will have to tolerate the complaining on here a bit. This has many positives, so feel free to bang on about them, no one would complain about that and I'd enjoy hearing about that side a bit more.

And welcome to the forum.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

just fix the dreds to make it point downward like in the movie not sideways, everything else i can live with. As it is now, i can't display this, every time i look at it it will annoy the hell outta me /ocd.
