Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

The Regular will probably have the disc and holster as one piece, not removable.
The Ex has a removable disc so he has an empty holster when using the in hand disc. As seen in the short video.

I really don't like coming in here anymore.
So much hate, even from the guys who ordered it!

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

It's obviously meant to represent the tribal aspect of the City Hunter with the skulls and the paint reflects the ship. It's a shame because a base can really add visual "pop". Just look at the Keaton Batman, people like the base more than the statue!

I don't think it's bad, it's just not good.

I still like this statue though, it got some really great feedback and when it hit the show everyone was going crazy about it, saying it was one of the best pieces of the day. Then we got a hold of the pictures and destroyed him! :lol

I'm sure it'll be a beast of a statue with good presence, it better be for the price we are paying.

I agree Sailor...I think its now becoming second nature to overly scrutinise a new piece...fact of the matter is that you can nit-pic the hell out of most new pieces, after all, nothing is perfect especially in this hobby...and 9 times out of 10, scrutinising usually gets you nowhere and you end up hating it before its even arrived :( I say enjoy it for what it is...this P2 is a great looking statue imo and lets face it, Preds are quite hard to get 100% right and I'm sure that there are those who will even nit-pic things that they don't like about the P1 CM or the Sideshow P1 Maquette. I remember when first seeing this maquette at last years Con and thinking to myself how massive it was and how much presence it would have when on display...yes the base is a bit random and the mask isn't 100% accurate...so what :dunno the fact the EX has sold out should give a good indication of how popular this piece is with hardcore Pred fans. I say congrats to all those who managed to secure one and like the Wolf Predator LSF, I think it's gonna come out looking amazing!!! :clap

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I'm just laughing at the base fellas. I'm not here to spoil the fun. I'm still looking forward to getting this maquette.

But let's face it, nothing's perfect. I can accept that. Even the pieces in my collection have flaws, but it doesn't mean I like them any less. The same goes for this statue.

I look at the base of this P2 maquette, and I can't help but wonder why there are teeth, perfectly lined up, along the bottom. :D

I get that there are issues with the dreads, the biomask, the spear, etc. Those are much more important details we wish could be addressed, but damn!...

...those teeth! :lol

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

While I agree completely about the stupid teeth... I'd say this actually looks really nice from that angle, it is deffo the angle I'll have it at to try and mask the dreads.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Yeah, I agree about the dreads not being so obvious from that angle.
I'll be placing mine into a glass case and it can be viewed from 270-degrees. So there's no position I can put him in to avoid seeing him directly face-to-face.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Just looked over today's newsletter from Sideshow and there's no mention of the EX being sold out even though it is.
You would think they would use the newsletter as a way to at least market the 1,000 regulars they are still accepting preorders for.

Probably too close since some payments would still be processing if their card got declined (my one did as I forgot to update my payment details).

Remember a lot of the regulars go to the retailers also. So they probably only have around 600-700 to sell themselves. 1500 Edition size is still pretty low for a piece like this. For all we know a big amount of regulars could have been Pre-ordred also.

SS should consider doing a Q&A with the artists of every piece after it's reveal so collectors and fans can get their questions answered. It would put more people at ease. I too would like to know what the idea was behind the base.

Yeah the teeth . . . well - what can I say - fangs ain't what they used to be.

That's at the bottom of my "to be fixed" list of flaws. Purely because it can be hidden with a name plaque or ANYTHING that's less offensive than something reminding me of my Grandad's false teeth (* sorry - that was probably a visual you folks didn't need *).
