Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

The fact that it sucks?

Sorry Matt, I wasn't trying to be rude and I'm glad you're happy with it but that picture does look awful.
I was shocked at the £88 price tag, I picked up the LSB for £200.

I actually bought a Terminator box set from Amazon and it turned out to be a cheap, poorly made, plastic toy so I sent it back.

He was responding to the opinion that '3D' movies suck...

...not about the awful sculpt. Ooops! That slipped. :monkey3

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

We had our 3D TV for 3 years now, and I tell you, we love it. It also converts regular programs and movies to 3D, although we don't use it much.
Love going to the movies, and if it's in 3D, that's a plus, and if the movie is good, and we love it - It's great to be able to see it again in 3D when it's released on BR.
As for predator - Loved the 3D version. Actually watched all of them, up-converted, and I can tell you that even AVP looks great.

Each to their own - we actually AVOID 3D movies like the plague and only go if we have no choice (or make a mistake).

The last Hobbit movie was attrocious in 3D.

Only one I've ever seen in 3D that worked for me was last years "Dredd" with Karl Urban - awesome 3D on that one - pulled you RIGHT in.

. . . and of course we'll all prefer the 3D version of this maquette to the 2D one :wink1: (* I hope! *)

.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Avatar was the only one I remember being any good. Prometheus was actually decent in 3D too but I agree if I can choose I pick the regular version.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Gravity is decent, too. I was amazed by it enough to re-watch it again.
I actually think P3D is decent enough. At least more watchable than ultimate waxfest edition. 7/10

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I more like the idea of 3D than 3D itself. After wearing 3D glasses for 2 or 3 hours my eyes feel like there gonna fall out. That's just me...
Wait .... I thought this was a p2 maquette thread...:lol

An improperly setup theater can make 3D terrible, and there are plenty to just plain bad 3D movies where either just the movie ruined it or the 3D effect was non existent. Like I said if done right it drops the jaw, even with movies like Hugo where it does not jump out at you.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Well I decided to take my Predator 3D Limited Edition Pred-head out of the box & I now have him displayed without his mask. I like it, for what it is. It's certainly up there with the best of the Blu-ray/DVD collectable heads that I have or have seen in person. Namely my T2 Skynet Edition Endoskull & my Alien Quadrilogy head.

It still irks me that there is no possible way to tell if the one you've got is 2nd hand or brand new what with it not being sealed. Unless you buy it from the German amazon that is. However, theirs cost 149.99 Euro (my laptop is so old that there's no Euro symbol, lol) which works out at over £125.00. £88 seems like a bargain compared to that. In the States it works out better though at $129.99 which works out at around £78.

I'm sorry for hijacking this thread & now if you'll excuse me I'm off to watch some XXX rated hardcore mandible on mandible action with Predators followed by some XXXX rated even hardercore mandible on Austrian action. :)

And with that I'll stop pestering this thread. Hans Gruber has left the building...

vertically...

and at speed. :)

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Did not order this because compared to the P1 maquette.... in my opinion its total shambles. The p1 maquettes pose, museum style base, light feature on mask, open jaw on unmasked head, everything about it just outshines this p2 maquette.

Can't argue with much of that, apart from the pose, I like this one a little better. Unfortunately though a lot of people don't have a large scale Pred in their collection and this is it for a few years.
