Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I hear you.
There are some who are happy for the chance to own this awesome piece...

At a price :rolleyes2

I ordered it despite my issues with it. A missed opportunity but still exciting for me after all the years to finally have a P2.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I don't care about the dreads either. I also agree that for the price we deserve a stand for the second head. But I personally don't display the head I'm not using by the statue. If they fix the dreads cool if not cool.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Now for my personal favorite, bring on the Scar Maquette!

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I guess it looks like this won't come with a second head!? There is the blog video of this on youtube that shows a seam on the unmasked face that looks to come out and you put the Bio on top, like a freakin HT figure, That's a deal breaker for me if that's the case, will not be ordering. That mask will rub the crap out of the paint on the unmasked head.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Read the previous threads people. Its been re-confirmed that theres two head sculpts coming.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

ok then

Yep I'm lazy haha, but this thread is painful, all price guessing, price whining, nit picking which I am guilty of but not for page, after page, after page. I will try and read more :)

:exactly:............

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I still don't understand why would they show you a separate mask going over the top if there was none?

It would certainly make sense since the Bio looks wrong. They might have adjusted it to fit the face hence why it looks too small and the dreads stick out.

They should have done an open mouth and a mask IMO. The unmasked portrait looks like he's been on the weed. Then again they probably would have screwed the mandibles since nobody can get the P2 mandibles right for some reason.

Could have just carbon copied this....

Number of people who would have bought it - EVERYONE.

Refer to page 189. :rolleyes2

Annnnd I can fully admit when I'm incorrect. Received more clarification and this piece will indeed come with two portraits...

One masked...one unmasked.

Apologies...the piece in house (which is not a production piece) has an earlier configuration attached to it (which is also seen in the video) that has the mask actually going over the portrait.

So sorry, and I've updated my previous post with the correct pieces that come with this item.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

They've just put 500 on the BD T-800 Ex which was a surprise.
Then there's 1,500 RS Ex :slap

Would be ridiculous to have more than 500 for this, even that would be too high.

Honestly I don't think it matters for me, don't care for the EX and I would rather save a nice chunk if I decide to get it going with the regular from another source. Depending of course if they fix the dred issues at least.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I think this maquette might be one of the last sideshow do on the predator line. The price yes is quite high. Only for Hardcore collectors I say. I will be picking him up

A high Es wouldn't stop me getting it, I ordered day one, but it would be nice to know if I ever had to sell I would at least get my money back.
This is a keeper but who know what waits around the corner.

With respect, not everyone is willing to order something second rate just because we've had such a long wait. There are plenty of us that have waited years for this only to find a P2 huge price and several highly obvious faults so you have to expect and allow the moaning in this thread. And it isn't nitpicking when you're talking about a $1200 piece of polystone.

I don't think people are moaning just for the sake of moaning, the predator has a passionate following, more so than most characters. personally I'm really disappointed but ultimately I want this. I think most of us are genuinely hoping SS will listen and make a few changes. It wouldn't even take that much on their part really. What, a day tops to fix the dreads and maybe the spear which I don't mind but it seems to be up there in the complaints. The crappy base wouldn't be enough alone to put people off alone so they don't even have to touch that. This thing is ludicrously priced, surely it would be worth a little of SS's time to ensure an influx of buyers that are otherwise turning away and keeping their money. it would be time well spent imo and everybody wins. You get a better statue, I get to buy the statue and SS roll in it and improve customer relations... :hi5:

I was going to say an improved LSF version, but if the PF is $1200 I dread to think what that would be ;)

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

My comment was more about personal circumstances which may force me to sell in the future. Whenever anyone mentions potential value later people either call them a flipper or say 'I would never sell mine' but it doesn't matter. No one knows what will happen in their lives, potential situations where money is needed over collectibles. In that situation no one wants to sell for half what they payed.

Anyway here's hoping for a decent low ES.

You say you dread to think the price of a Predator LSF, that's what makes this 'reasonable'. If it was labelled LSF there would be at least another $800 on top and the Wolf isn't actually much bigger, if any minus the tall base.
