Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Regular Hi res picture (left) looks much cooler that the EX imo...

If you look at those 2 photos in hindsight it's pretty obvious it's the same head sculpt with the clip on mask. I have a feeling that's also the reason why the dreads are inaccurate the way they are - to allow the mask to be clipped on off .

We over analyze everything and missed one of the key piece of info. I don't have a big problem with clip on if done correctly like ht but given SS past products it will be a problem

SS should made it very clear on their web page though it's misleading. I would trust Alex over tHe phone reps, they are probably just reading off the web page like you.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Annnnd I can fully admit when I'm incorrect. Received more clarification and this piece will indeed come with two portraits...

One masked...one unmasked.

Apologies...the piece in house (which is not a production piece) has an earlier configuration attached to it (which is also seen in the video) that has the mask actually going over the portrait.

So sorry, and I've updated my previous post with the correct pieces that come with this item.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Just got this email...

Dear Colin,

Thank you for taking the time to contact Customer service and for your interest in our products! I am happy to confirm that the finalized Predator 2 Maquette exclusive item your ordered will come finished with 2 portraits.

Can you clarify please Alex?

Wow... Seems like a lot of confusion on this. So reps here say the mask itself is removable from the only portrait that comes attached and Customer Service says there are in fact two portraits included. Sideshow needs to post a photo with ALL included product laid out, similar to how Hot Toys posts the "this is all included" pic.

Edit: Just saw SideshowAlex's recent post. Thanks for clearing that up.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I actually am really stocked about the mask actually fitting on the face so long as it actually works properly, and what would be even cooler is if the switch out portrait is of an open mouth... sweeeeet

I can't for the life of me figure out how SSC can get this so wrong though, the EX should be the spear and the masked portrait. Why give absolutely everything that is coolest about the statue to the regular version? What makes the EX special then? Breather mask? not quite. Reg should have been maskless version, without spear hand, and EX should have been the masked portrait and spear.

Also, those dreads didn't bother me at first, but the more i stare at them, its driving me nuts how much they stick out. I'm praying for some production tweeks before the end of this rollercoaster.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Dammit, I really want to order this one despite the hideous pricing. Come on Alex, Work your magic on the production guys and get those silly dreads fixed for us. Maybe they could blow the spear up in size a little while they are at it. Pleeeeease.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

And actually, the bio fitting over the face would be fine, I quite like the idea... but in such a case there should be a second head with open mandibles. I guess Alex has cleared it all up now though. So the regular gets two heads also??

Who what a relief :thud: THANKS ALEX :yess:

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

What is so special about getting the EX on this one? Can someone please tell me?

Not much, just the in hand disk and breather... Seems the reg could have just been given those as well to help out international customers.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Thanks Alex. Pleased you were here.
Glad I don't have to cancel :yess:

A removable mask is a nice idea but as I said there has to be contact poibtsthat over time would scuff and even wear down, if you liked to swap your display about.

:lol You could say that about every Ex :hi5:

The disc in hand is a great Ex. Wish there was an empty left hand though.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Phew...

Thanks for going all out Col. I feel better now. :lol

And thanks for clearing that up and confirming Alex. :hi5:

And I do agree, they should have a switch out empty left hand. Would be nice if the disc was in that left hand instead of the claw hand though.

Awesome news! Now me ordering this is just down to the Ex edition size. I wouldn't expect it to be over 500. 750 would seem far too high for the price. Guess we'll find out soon enough. :dunno:

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

RS? It's not all about size... :wink1:

At the end of the day Matt, assuming they don't go mad on the ES, this will be your only chance to pick this up for retail.

True. But I just think, say, a 750 Ex & a 1250 Regular would be somewhat bonkers! That's what I fear they're going to do.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

No worried DH, it needed clarification.

Ex <500 or fail.

I want a nice little stand for the, confirmed, extra portrait :(
